Best converting offers for email signup

Hey Warriors. I am just wondering if anyone might share what their best converting free offers are and how they word them?
Ebook, Report, Video, Training video, Dvd newsletter etc...

How important do you think the media is that you use to deliver your content?
e.g. how to make a $500 a day niche site delivered by video training or ebook

Hi Jake, please excuse the observation that it's very much a "second-best question".

The aim with listbuilding isn't to try to build "the biggest list possible". That will almost never be the list that produces the biggest income possible, and there are reasons for that. They're good and valid and reliable reasons, too - and they're going to apply to you, too, just like they apply to the rest of us.

Maybe time to start thinking qualitatively, instead of quantitatively? Just a suggestion ...

If you want to build a quality list invest in solo ads that are in your niche, they have the highest conversion rates, and will get you the most sales

      Hi,

As Alexa Smith said the quality is more important than quantity. Try to get subscribers which are really interested on your niche and before sending paid offers to them send some quality content trough autoresponders to build subscriber trust. Now you are ready to offer them some quality product

I can hear Alexa rolling over in her grave - despite the fact that she's very much alive.

Solo ads ... nothing wrong with them... but nothing right with them either.

Solo ads are mostly aimed at blind copy - which means that for certain niches, they can do okay - but they aren't people who've searched you out, and is looking for the unique content you have to provide them.

The very *BEST* conversions I've seen are from people who I've had contact with here or Facebook, or wherever - who see what I'm talking about, and are interested in more of what I have...

The conversion rate of *that* traffic to my buyers list is higher than any solo ad I've ever purchased.

Solo ads have unique 'problems' that other sources don't have... for one, they often consist of people who are on a large number of other lists. Doesn't mean you can't convert them into fanatic readers of your email series, just means the task will be more difficult.

REAL 'quality' is often going to be traffic that has, on their own, searched you out. (This can be website traffic, PPC or media buys). Which means that if you have your own info products, you're going to be ahead of the curve on this issue. When I say "real quality", I'm referring to open rates that are mid or high double digit. Leave the single digit open rates to the C&B'ers... you can still make money, but it's not a "real quality" list...

I agree that a bigger list isn't always better. It's all about finding the RIGHT list. A targeted list is worth its weight in gold.

Buy solo ads and have a simple Squeeze page and then try to build a good relationship with your subscribers.

It all comes down to quality as many has said. A small list with great open and clickthrough rates is usually far more profitable than a big and dead list.

    Sounds logical....

    I know... And it is

I totally agree with Alexa ... In my list building "infancy" I noticed that I had a large list that wasn't nearly as responsive as my mentors list which was around 5k. Mine was double that! Just remember... your list is not just comprised of email addresses... They are people too!!! Blessings!

    Hey thanks everyone!
I need to learn to think of the bigger picture and the whole process I guess.
I keep getting in these one track patterns of thought and focus in too much on a single aspect.
Thanks to everyone, Alexa particularly for waking me up!
I'm probably not the fastest learner around but this stuff sure takes some learning!

If the content is good content (I can do good, I probably need some more experience before I can offer exceptional)
Some usable, actionable information to subscribers in the form of video and text.
Is it worth buying leads? Or like Ben said, am I better off generating EVERYTHING from scratch?

I am just trying to find a system that can truly be scalable. Maybe this doesn't realistic happen until you've done massive ground work first and actually have people searching for you or your website?

    Hi Jake,

I have always found that having a video selling the offer works best. Something like vidsy from Market Samurai is easy to use and works well. I think the offer you give has to represent excellent value for money. IE someone would pay for the information but you are giving it away for free. This could be a short course, really well written book or report that looks authoritative and you could pay $20 for in the book store. Personally I think a well written book / report is worth far more that a badly edited video. To start with I would go down this route then progress to video.

Like they say it is not the size of the vessel but the motion of the ocean that vessel can make

The same with List Building. You can have a List of 5,000 Subscribers List way out due a List of 50,000 Subs.

In my infancy in IM, I bought into the hype that bigger was always better.

This is far from the Truth. A small, highly targeted group of Subscribers is SOOOO much better than a huge load of junk traffic from a traffic exchange.

      That's for sure !
