30 Day Challenge (starts 8/29) - Make money with no money

Edit: Challenge extended due to illness and such - This challenge will begin on 8/29/11 and will run until 10/5/11.

Have you heard the saying that it takes money to make money?

It's not true.

The purpose of this thread will be twofold.

The first part is that I want it to be a challenge - I want people to take the challenge of making money without having to put any money out first. I want for people to sign up for this challenge and then post their progress.

The second part is I am going to let you look over my shoulder while I start a brand-new project and make money without investing any money first.

I encourage people to ask questions along the way. I plan on asking questions of anybody that posts in this thread.

I don't really want to put a dollar amount on the amount of money that should be earned at the end of 30 days. My theory is that if any money is made it would be 100% profit, so that would be an excellent start.

These projects are going to be projects that don't require a whole lot of maintenance to them. They won't be auto pilot, but they won't be high maintenance either.

I would like to run a new challenge every 30 days. If you follow through with each challenge, by the end of 6 months you should have 6 projects earning you money.

To get started, just post in this thread with "I accept the challenge!"

Okay, here is what my project is going to be.

1. I'm going to have a brand new Blogger blog set up.

2. I'm going to have an information product that I'm going to sell that is not going to be in the Internet marketing/MMO niche.

3. My goal is going to be to make sales without having to put any money out ahead of time.

I'll keep track of progress and also how many sales I get by the end of the 30 days.

It looks like this challenge is getting a lot of attention!

Here is the gist of what my project is going to look like:

Days 1-7

I'm going to work on getting my site set up, my sign in form for my list set up, auto responder messages put in place, and content put on the site. I'll also get a product ready for sale.

Days 8-30

I will be working on getting traffic to the site, people on my list, and conversions.

I'll also add to the content on the site enter the auto responder messages.

Guidelines

For this challenge, you can't spend any money. I am going to be starting with nothing - no list, no paid hosting, no domain, no nothing. I won't be using an existing Twitter account.

The reason for this is that I want my experience to be very comparable what a newbie would experience and could duplicate.

You also need to be able to have money in your account within 30 days. This means that you could choose a product that gives immediate commissions if you wanted to do something as an affiliate instead of creating your own product. This would not mean you could do something such as an Amazon affiliate, because you won't get paid within 30 days.

I am also hoping that people will give their own suggestions and examples as we go through the challenge.

Resources

as I go to through challenge, I will be posting resources and alternate ideas for people who are following along. For example, I plan on writing out a product. Some people may not be comfortable doing that, so I will give alternative suggestions for people as to what they can use for products.

I think this is going to be a fun challenge and one that everybody can learn from.

that is a tough question...on another site I was a part of, they awarded prizes for those who were positive throughout the process and who helped others. There were also prizes for those who were the most successful.

Tough to say, I think both of those ideas worked and at least motivated me to keep going and to help other people along the way but other than that...I have no idea. This does sound like a ton of fun and it will be challenging not putting any money on the table but what an EXPERIENCE! it would be.

Being able to create something from nothing. Fun! Thanks for putting this together it is a wonderful idea.

Here is the gist of what my project is going to look like: Days 1-7 I'm going to work on getting my site set up, my sign in form for my list set up, auto responder messages put in place, and content put on the site. I'll also get a product ready for sale. Days 8-30 I will be working on getting traffic to the site, people on my list, and conversions. I'll also add to the content on the site enter the auto responder messages. Guidelines For this challenge, you can't spend any money. I am going to be starting with nothing - no list, no paid hosting, no domain, no nothing. I won't be using an existing Twitter account. The reason for this is that I want my experience to be very comparable what a newbie would experience and could duplicate. You also need to be able to have money in your account within 30 days. This means that you could choose a product that gives immediate commissions if you wanted to do something as an affiliate instead of creating your own product. This would not mean you could do something such as an Amazon affiliate, because you won't get paid within 30 days. I am also hoping that people will give their own suggestions and examples as we go through the challenge. Resources as I go to through challenge, I will be posting resources and alternate ideas for people who are following along. For example, I plan on writing out a product. Some people may not be comfortable doing that, so I will give alternative suggestions for people as to what they can use for products. I think this is going to be a fun challenge and one that everybody can learn from.
