2012 Tiffany Dow 365-Day [Lightweight] Productivity Challenge!
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi Warriors!

2012 isn’t going to be the year the world ends – but it IS going to be the year I feel the strong and steady burn of a fire being lit under my butt! Want me to light a match under yours, too?

Why commit to this challenge?

I’m just like many of you – all over the map. I’ve found that while I do love having multiple streams of income, I tend to love one and ignore the other, then get bored or burned out and switch things around.

What happens is, for instance – my PLR customers get 3 weeks of non-stop attention and products, then BOOM! They don’t hear from me for another 6 weeks – because I move on to info product production for 3 weeks, then on to affiliate marketing for 3 weeks and so on.

That’s NO way to run a business!

I need consistency in my productivity, so I’ve created a challenge for the year 2012 where I achieve 365 days’ worth of productivity across the board in my primary business structure:

1. PLR Creation
2. Info Product Development
3. Affiliate Marketing

This does NOT need to be YOUR business model for this challenge!

Maybe you’re just all over the map starting out trying to figure out what business model you should have, period! You buy up too many products, flit around looking for fast cash…I can tell you from experience that unless you set down roots, forget about long-term success – you’ll only see a few short term dollars trickling in.

Why “Lightweight?”

I don’t want this to be so overwhelming that it creates a bunch of quitters. The key component is steady, consistent progress. So I put down the bare minimum for myself to make it manageable for a day.

I also knew ahead of time that there will be some days I want to take off, or simply be a slacker. For those days, I want to be able to up the tasks easily on another day. So if I wake up Monday and say, “I don’t think so” to work, I can take off and just make it up on Tuesday easily because it’s manageable.

Also, I know that doing the bare minimum helps me feel good that I SUCCEEDED – and if I have time and want to take on more, I am more than able to do that! But I don’t want guilt involved in this challenge – in fact, it’s banned!

So no apologies allowed if you didn’t do a day along the way. I’m sure you’ll be happy with what you DO accomplish, so no beating yourself up about shortcomings.

Make a Plan for Your 2012 Lightweight Productivity Challenge:

First, I want you to make a plan – this challenge starts January 1st and this may take time to set up! Here’s what you need to do before January first rolls around:

1. Decide what business model(s) you’re going to pursue in 2012.

Will it be affiliate marketing, info product creation, PLR, AdSense, mentoring, service providing – or what? A combination of a few? List everything you’ll be working on for 2012.

2. Choose your challenge model.

You might be working on 4 business models, but only want to commit ONE of them to this challenge! That’s fine. Let’s say you’re doing the same 3 items I am, but you ONLY want to use this challenge for affiliate marketing – that’s great!

3. Outline your productivity - but with a slacker mentality.

No over-achievers need apply here. I want your skimpiest productivity possible, sort of. LOL! I don’t want you to say you’ll write one sentence. Be reasonable. Pretend you’ve got the flu but you HAVE to get something done – what would that look like?

Remember, this is 365 days – you’re GOING to get a lot done, but let’s eat this elephant one bite a time, shall we?

Here’s my own commitment so you can be educated in slacker-ease:

1 PLR page per day
1 section of an info product
1 affiliate page for my site

Now a “section” can range from a half a page to several pages for me – but once I’m working on a section, I don’t like to be interrupted.

4. Outline your daily tasks.

You don’t HAVE to do this but it’s going to make for faster productivity if you do it. You can map out your tasks, topics, and specifics ahead of time so that each day you know exactly what to do and can jump on it. I plan to map out a week at a time.

For example, for my PLR I’ll map out the topic ahead of time – down to the keyword phrase and title. For my info product, I’ll have an outline pretty much several layers deep so that I can know what to work on for a section quickly. For my affiliate site, I’ll have my pages plotted out and know what products I want to promote.

Make your commitment statement NOW and weekly updates starting the first week of January 2012 here.

So accountability matters to most of us. I want you to make a commitment statement here and once a week – pick a day of your choosing, update us on how your journey has gone that week.

I will be doing weekly video check ins on the weekend – probably Sundays. Basically, tell us a few things:

In your accountability statement, let us know what you commit to do. Mine looks like this:

I will be writing 1 page of PLR, 1 affiliate review, and 1 section of an info product daily in 2012.

Then each week, let us know – did you meet or exceed or fall short of your goals? What happened to cause everything to fall in place (or not)? Maybe let us in on the news of whether this is changing/improving your income in 2012 as you work on it?

I hope you’ll be onboard, Warriors! I know whenever I run a contest or challenge here or on my blog, people always email me about how much they got done – as work at homers, we need a support team we can be a part of to cheer each other on!

Tiff

P.S. If you’re asking why only 365 days when 2012 is a leap year and has 366 days, well consider it a blessing for slackers – a day to celebrate all that you achieved this year!

This is definitely going to be a great challenge. I like how it's not too strict with tasks - it's more about choosing what you're going to work on and doing something everyday. I'm sure that I'm going to be able to keep up with this one!

I'm going to be focusing on:
1) PLR creation
2) Affiliate marketing physical products
3) Affiliate marketing of digital products

My main income comes from websites with paid advertising and that does well for me but I want to take a step towards areas that I've had great success with but never had as much time to work on. 2012 is going to be my year for that!

I still need to flesh out some ideas over the next week to see where I'm going to take things and then I'll be ready to officially start.

Each day I'm going to write at least:

1 Page of PLR content
1 Page of a Product Review or Article for my affiliate sites (for site content or backlinking)
Some sort of linkbuilding and traffic generation - not sure which method yet.

Can't wait! I wish everyone taking part great success! I definitely needed this kick up the butt.

Personally the only areas that I have my somewhat limited success has been with Adsense and I hope to ramp that up significantly in 2012.

My hopes for this coming year are quite simple, as I'd like to see income from that, Amazon, Clickbank, product creation, some Ebay sales, Website creation for flipping etc, etc.

I am going to work on my game plan and endeavour to focus on projects for myself as things I've had in the pipeline have been put aside for other people. Not all bad but I enjoy telling my family that I've made money online so all my efforts will be to that end.

Looking forward to this challenge.

Brian

Thanks for your post, Tiffany!

I'm focusing on:

1) One-of-a-kind and readymade websites, to sell at auctions and my own website.
2) PLR packages.
3) And, in my spare time, complete at least two new nonfiction books and turn the existing ones into Kindles.

This may sound like I'm treading dangerously into "overachiever" territory, but I need a rotating series of projects or I get bored... and then I get into mischief, launching unplanned (ooh, shiny!) projects that lead me far off the original path.

So, that's my focus, for starters. I don't have the commitment part figured out yet. Here's why: After an exceptionally successful website auction, I've invested in software that's automating a lot of what ate my time, wholesale, when I was doing all the work manually.

However, it's going to be a week or two until I have a grasp of what's realistic with the new software. So, my immediate commitment is: Learn how to use all this software!

Update, 2 days later:

Today, I finished setting up the four sites that will be the core of what I'm doing in 2012: one site for PLR articles, one site for website sales, one site for customer support (tutorials, mostly), and one that's a single webpage, pointing to all the other sites. I don't really expect to use that single-page site; it's an easy misspelling of the support site's URL, and I snagged it "just in case."

The sites look clean and very retro, and I'm pleased. Now I just need to finish some of the products I'll be selling at them! *LOL*

Thanks Tiffany,
First time I have posted, apart from a couple of queries in the past, Too many shiny objects here, also I never know if I'm in war room or not and I've never been able to find a thankyou button.
I know you are here a lot and part of my 2012(Challenge) is to get here more often.
If anyone has a help article on this I would appreciate it.
I'm not a forum person but will do it this next year.
All the best for everyone in 2012
regards

Hi Tiff;

Love this challenge, was thinking about this today. What is my plan for 2012, and how will it be the best year yet for my business. This is the year I plan to make the transition from part-time to full time and am excited, nervous and scared all at the same time.

My Focus Areas:
1. Authority Sites with Product Reviews of Physical Producs
2. Fulfillment by Amazon program
3. PLR Creation

My Daily Work will include:
1. 1 page/post to my authority sites
2. Backlinking - I always get stuck on this step - to one of my sites daily
3. Write PLR for my site
4. Document my progress daily so I can figure out what I am doing that works, and what needs improving

I have a new idea for my PLR site and need to flesh out my unique selling proposition and plan for marketing that idea. I have a site on Toys that has just been a blast to create an I actually love going to that site daily and working, but it needs to be a little more focused, and sourcing FBA products is something I want to work on so I can share that with others.

Looking forward to moving into 2012 this is my "make it" year.

This is a good challenge because it helps for the longevity and will help us to be consistent in what we do.

I will be focusing on

1. PLR writing
2. Blogging/ List building
3. Membership sites
4. Affiliate Marketing
5. Product creation
6. My traffic Exchange and social network

I plan on daily ...

Writing at least one PLR article
Working on content for my blog or lists
Working on my upcoming membership sites
Working on a product review
Mapping out a plan to create and then implementing a plan to create my own products besides plr.
Checking on my traffic exchange and network (approving members, doing necessary tasks like adding content etc)

I'm motivated and want to make 2012 an even better year!

Tiffany,
Thanks for the post!

Here is my story in a nutshell.

Even though my Warrior Forum join date is October 2006, I have spent the time since then jumping from one idea to another. Never taking any real action.

However, in 2011, I came across Tiffany Dow and started following her blog. I started taking action because of her. While I don't have any real successes to brag about, yet, I have made more money on-line this year than all the other years combined.

Since I am not a full-timer and still need to work a JOB, I love the "slacker mentality" aspect of this challenge.

I hereby accept the 2012 365-day Productivity Challenge.

My focus for 2012 will be in the area of PLR.

My commitment is:

1 PLR page per day

Also focusing on list building techniques and traffic generation, in the spare time.

Again, Thanks Miss Tiffany, and Best Wishes for the New Year.

Mel

Hi, Tiffany,

I am excited about this challenge. This past year, my online income has come from Squidoo, Amazon, and AdSense. Not much, mind you, but enough to show potential.

My goals for this year are to build 52 or more lenses, add product pages to my web sites for Amazon products, and build up my AdSense sites.

So, at least one lens per week.
Three product pages for my sites per week (rotating between different sites each week)
One or more content pages added to my AdSense sites per week
Edit at least one chapter on my husband's books per week
One to three blog posts per week

Doesn't sound like much, but I am still working as a consultant/editor/author, and that is about what time I can put into it right now.

Now, I just have to figure out which day I will do what, though that will often depend on deadlines for my other work.

Linda

I was going to quietly join the challenge, but what the heck.

My main areas of focus are going to be:

1) PLR (not to parrot everyone else, lol)
2) product creation
3) kindle publishing
4) Incorporating affiliate opportunities into the areas above.

My daily commitment will be:

1) 1000 words a day for any of the above. Ideally working towards some true focus, but enough leeway to allow breaks from any sort of burnout.
2) Doing at least 1 thing to promote myself or my products. This could be writing articles, contacting affiliates, setting up a WSO, as long as it is some form of self promotion.
3) Planning out the next day before I stop for the day.

I have been working with this already, but with the holidays it has been rough to keep up. I have a lot of ideas to start hammering out, just need to really get moving. I figure with 1000 words a day that comes out to 365000 words over the course of a year (and it is not really hard to do, 2-3 articles a day covers it.)

The one area that I really need to focus on is setting deadlines and living up to them. I am sitting on 3 partially done projects right now.

Ideally I would like to have 1-2 new sets of PLR up a week as well as progress on my other projects.

Tiffany, this is a GREAT idea! I am currently working (more or less) full-time in my offline business, and I do tend to get sidetracked by all the shiny new objects when looking at online income. I won't even go into how many different programs reside on my hard drive.

So for this coming year, I am going to focus on expanding my business website to include affiliate products, and some Adsense. I will get back to work on my Amazon product site, and create a website for affiliate marketing, but more of an authority site.

I will have to think about how much time I can devote to each task, so I'll have to write that in later.

Thanks for the challenge! I know I need a good kick every now and then.

Hmmmm. This sounds good. One of MY really big problems is staying focused (on the right things) since there are an infinite number of ways I can get distracted on the internet (and the Warrior Forum happens to be one of them, even though it can also be highly beneficial), and usually do.

I'm in. BUT -- I reserve the right to modify everything at any time I choose.

At this point My Plan for 2012 involves sinking my teeth deeply into:

1. Affiliate Marketing
2. My Own Info Products
3. Traffic and List Building
and probably (or file under 1. above):
4. CPA

Now, as for DAILY tasks to complete, I'm going to have to think on that a bit, I think. Several others have chosen to cast them as WEEKLY goals and that may be better. I think I can post two, though:

1. Write something for public consumption daily -- blog post, article for submission, forum post (more than just a sentence or two), broadcast message, follow-up message to add to the autoresponder, etc.

2. Work on advancing the current information product -- research, outline and planning, writing, editing, etc.

Okay, people, come on. Time's a wastin'.

Hey Tiff, what a great challenge. This is really something I need to participate in , big time!

My focus will be:

1: Create 1 plr pack per day after keyword research has been done. I like to include keywords with my packs. This means I may need to take several hours on any given day for research for each pack I create.

2.Collect ideas for ebook topics and begin researching.

3. To stay focused!!!!

Awesome challenge Tiff!

I can't help feeling that 2012 is going to be an amazing year for a lot of people, me included. This challenge is going to be a big help in keeping me focused and on track.

For the coming year I am focusing on 4 areas:

1) PLR
2) Info product creation
3) Kindle publishing
4) Affiliate marketing

I also want to make this the year that I really come out of my shell and make a consistent effort to connect with people and stay in touch. I'm such a hermit that it's scary sometimes.

My daily tasks will be:

1. One page of PLR
2. 1 section of an info product
3. 1 page of content for an affiliate site
4. Daily social media updates

If I can get that much done in a day I will feel like I've accomplished something, and that leaves the rest of the day free for me to play.

Here's to an awesome new year for us all!

Great Challenge for 2012 Tiffany. I have not really focused on any one thing over the past year therefore not really making any money. For this year and this challenge, I want to focus on setting up some Adsense Sites this year. I want to:
(1) Put up at least one Adsense site every 14 days.

(2) Focus on Quality Sites with Good Content.
Hope everyone has a very successful New Year so we can all share our success stories at the end of 2012.
Take Care,

Hi Tiff, Ron here. This should be a great challenge!

Personally, my 2012 goals are:
  • PLR
  • Travel blog
  • Digital photography blog
  • Healthy eating blog
Daily, I plan to write a page of PLR and one blog for one of my websites. Every other Wed. post to my travel blog. Every other Thurs., on the off weeks of the travel blog, post to my digital photography blog. Every Sunday, I will post a healthy eating tip to my healthy eating blog.

I'm going to go light due to all the unforseen things that seem to crop up. That way I'll have the time to react.

Thanks!

Hi Tiff,

Thanks for putting together this challenge. Though I can't say that you sound like a slacker at all!

My business focus for 2012 is:
- build up my plr site to about 100 packs
- use PLR I have purchased or created to test different uses for it (and hopefully make sales)
- build my list as much as humanly possible with good prospects

My daily/weekly tasks will include:
- writing at least one page of PLR per day (do I hear an echo?)
- writing one other piece of content per day (free, paid, marketing, etc)
- add 3 to 5 emails to my autoresponder list per week
- post/interact on different forums I belong to at least once per day
- interact on Facebook and Twitter for at least 15 minutes per day, max 30 minutes

In addition, I will make a list every Sunday of the 3 main tasks I want to achieve for that week and make sure they are scheduled into my week and only relate to my core business goals. There are days that I only end up with 2 quiet hours to do work, so I need to start timing myself to force myself to work faster and more focused. I can easily spend a couple hours on one article. I'll also carve out about 2 hours each week to do some learning, such as learning to do videos - which is top of my list.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm in, too. Such a great idea, Tiff, and one so many of us need. I have to work about 4 hours a day on my upfront $$, so I'm going to work on the most important things to move me forward:

My business focus this year is:
Affiliate marketing product sites (building the couple that I already have and adding a couple more)
Focus on ebook/Kindle products (that might be tied to the above)
Get my nonfiction kid book proposal done by the end of Qtr. 1 and out to agents and/or publishers. Then we'll see if I do more.

My daily goals then are:
4 hours of upfront pay writing a day (no procrastinating, just do it!)
1 product review and/or article per day for one of my sites or Squidoo
1-2 hours a day on backlinking/traffic generation
1+ hour a day on book proposal

Let's make this productive everyone!

Hi Tiff!

When Michael Port approached me to write a chapter for his “Book Yourself Solid” book, I did not hesitate or procrastinate to get it done.

Why I did not do any Kindle publishing in 2011 is beyond comprehension. I always wondered why I could write for others, but never seemed to find the time to write for ME! Well, that is about to change!

This is a perfect opportunity to make some massive changes (and I need this type of accountability). I made a profit last year, but I should have done so much more. I have a few domains sitting idle. They need content and your challenge is going to help me fulfill these needs.

I applaud you for taking it upon your shoulders to kick my backside when needed.

Since this post came as a welcome surprise, I ran for a binder I bought last year (and never used, mind you) and immediately wrote in:

"2012 - 365 Day Challenge"

While I do not have all the gritty details written, I did start with what I would like to accomplish, daily.

1. 1 PLR page or graphic set
2. 1 PPT video
3. 1 Info-product page (Kindle publishing, among others)
4. Do SOMETHING to promote my brand.

Since the video portion will take the longest, I figure this is what I can handle daily. If it turns out that I get the video done sooner than I expected, I will write more PLR pages or a longer section for my info product.

I will use the remaining days, before January gets here, to map out the exact PLR topics, graphic sets and videos I will be focusing on each week.

Thanks for winding me up!

You do not know how badly I needed this... or maybe you do, which is why you took it upon yourself to make the rest of us accountable. Whatever your reasons, I thank you sincerely!

Warmly,
- Bonnie xo

P.S. This is a reminder to tack this post to my TO DO board!

I'm in!

For the coming year I am focusing on 4 areas, 3 PLR related & 1 personal:

1) PLR Provider Reviews
2) PLR Website Creation
3) PLR Content
4) Improving my health

My tasks will include:

1. One PLR Provider Review per week (yours is already up but I'll still add 52 just because it's leap year!!)
2. One PLR website built per week for my store
3. One page of PLR per day, 5 days per week for 1 pack per week in my store
4. One new healthy habit per month added to my life :p

Those are my 3 main goals to begin creating income this year & 1 main goal for getting healthier & staying healthy long term.

Let's rock this joint!!

Hi Tiff

Thanks for organising the Slacker Challenge !! I need to expect less to achieve more

My aim for the year will be to get my PLR website up and running - and profitable ....

As I still work I am going to focus on weekly goals-

1. an article a week
2. some form of marketing
3. some form of list building

As I become more competent I can look at increasing the work that I do, but focus on getting one thing right before I move onto the next task !!

Looking forward to a productive 2012

Awesome Tiff!

I want to do marketing MY way too! Of course, Elvis is stuck in my head now.
I also need consistency. I spread myself way too thin, get bored, and off to something else. That has to stop.

I've actually been working on my plans for the past week and will continue to get them in order and ready to go by Monday---the first Monday of the year. Woot!

Here goes...

Objective:
-Get more organized.
-Get condensed, avoid shiny objects, focus on a few things.
-Keep it simple and focused.
-Make more connections.
-Accountability partner. Someone who does understand that life happens but also reminds me to get off my butt and make things happen. Someone who knows when to empathize and when not to. "When not to" being a major factor here.

Mission:
to inspire and be a light for others through social responsibility in marketing and business

Projects:
*PLR Store
*Newsletter
*Blog
*Possibly work affiliate sites for boredom and amusement.

Focus:
~list building
~traffic
~recommendations (affiliate marketing)
~making connections

Daily/Weekly:
-write 1 page of plr
-write 1 page of content
-put together all the products/reports I already have

Personal mantras to be read daily:
**Know your why!
**Be accountable!
**Raise your vibration!
**Get clear on the results you offer to people!
**Results oriented marketing!
**Keep it simple!
**FOCUS!**
**Publish quality content frequently and consistently!
**Don't be a professional buyer! NO more shiny objects!
**Go with MY work flow!
**Create and live life!

I'm not saying I won't make any purchases this year because something great may get published. But, as of right now, I have enough content to repurpose, enough courses and training materials that if I can start working through it on a monthly basis (one theme per month) I will be batting a thousand. I do not plan to make any purchases in 2012 (courses, training, etc.)

Recurring theme? Simplify and focus!

I want to get the bulk of my work done by noon. That's roughly four hours of productive time. During the afternoon I can promote, get on social media to make connections, recap the day and plan the next working day.

I really do try to go with the flow, but I also need some kind of structure.

Best of luck to everyone!

And hey, if that Mayan calendar brings us to an end in December, at least we'll go out with a bang and some major accomplishments. LOL

Hugs!

Re: 2012 Tiffany Dow 365-Day [Lightweight] Productivity Challenge!
Share on:

Count me in Cyril Almond

2012 isn’t going to be the year the world ends – but it IS going to be the year a feel the strong and steady burn of a fire being lit under my butt!

Tiff

P.S. If you’re asking why only 365 days when 2012 is a leap year and has 366 days, well consider it a blessing for slackers – a day to celebrate all that you achieved this year![/QUOTE]

Hey everyone!

a.) For some reason I can't use "Thanks" in this thread. So just know I'm grateful you're all onboard with me so I don't have to go it alone.

b.) Expect me to get emotional about your successes and struggles as you share them with us. It's just the way i am. I tear up and want to come hug you.

c.) I LOVE these goals you guys have! They're well thought out and look manageable and specifically like they're going to lead to great things as far as building up an income.

d.) I just wanted to update you on what I did yesterday. For my PLR portion, I went through all of my requests that I've had lately and I conducted keyword research for each pack. That included looking on Amazon to see what people buy in regards to that topic, too.

Then I made lists of the article titles using those keywords. For the PLR items that will be reports or eBooks, I went ahead and outlined those as well. I actually went ahead and did 40 days worth, because I know I'll be doing more than 1 page per day some days, and I wanted to have it already mapped out.

e.) Today's task is to create the outline for my next Info Product that I plan to release. I have 3 main ideas and I'm not sure which I want to start with. So what I'm going to do is do a basic outline of all three projects, then choose which one interests me most (and which I feel is most needed).

f.) Tomorrow I will map out the Amazon products I plan to review for my affiliate site. For that site, I'm contemplating moving it off Network Blazer and onto a static site of my own but I'm not sure. It's converting fine as is, but it's difficult to organize. That's going to take some major planning.

Hope you're all getting excited! I can't wait to see the check-ins on what all was accomplished during the coming weeks.

Tiff

Greetings, Tiffany!

My main areas of focus this year are:
  • Creating more PLR
  • Publishing (CreateSpace, Kindle, Nook, my own products, etc.)
  • Concentrating on my passion site that centers around everything retro.
  • Selling my physical vintage paperback books.
As you can see, all my main passions center around writing and reading. This will be my main concentration. No more shiney objects! I believe I now have ALL the tutorial info neccessary. Time to put the brakes on!

Thank you for this challenge, as I really need a kick in the seat of the pants. This is perfect timing for me! I really need to concentrate on using my time more wisely.

Thanks much!

I am ready to jump in with this challenge. This is a great idea because it helps to stay focussed. I did really well when Tiff had the PLR challenge on her website as this enabled me to get my website The PLR Boutique up and running.

Challenge 365

My business plan for 2012 will concentrate on the following four areas:
  1. The creation and sale of Amazon websites
  2. PLR creation
  3. Affiliate Marketing
  4. Freelance Writing
My daily tasks for the year will be:

To write 2 articles per day – either PLR or for one of my websites
To carry out one marketing activity

There are lots more things that I want to achieve next year (check out the full post at My Daily Cuppa) but this is the slacker challenge that should be impossible to fail.

I wish everybody good luck and I look forward to meeting new people and getting to know others even better.

Awesome challenge, Tiffany!

This year, I greatly expanded my business and income, but I also ended up scattered and unfocused from trying to do too many things at once. That needs to end and I will use this challenge to help me focus.

I want to target building up my affiliate income, my own product creation and my marketing blog. I will still be creating PLR for my store and my memberships but will be creating systems in order to maintain momentum.

Preparation:

I am also a big believer in outlining and mapping out what I need to do. Between now and the first, I will outline my goals and tasks for January as well as setting up my objectives for 2012, broken down by quarter and then month.

Daily Tasks:

1 page added to one of my affiliate/Adsense sites
1 section of an info product
1 post on my marketing blog
1 activity for promotion of my sites
30 minutes of organization/systemizing my current income streams

Thank you so much Tiffany for pulling this together and also thanks to everyone else for sharing their plans for 2012 and beyond.

The Main Focus of my business for 2012 are :

@ Building my eBay, Etsy and Amazon Consultancy Business
@ Adding New product lines to my eBay, Amazon and Etsy Business
@ Build a side business of Affiliate Marketing.

As I work with different clients and their needs are very different each day, I have to be very fluid with my work pattern, but as a minimum I shall do each day

@ List 10 items on eBay / Amazon / Etsy
@ Blog on my eBay Training Site
@ Spend 30 minutes on Facebook interacting with people
@ Spend 30 minutes a day on forums
@ Add One page to my affiliate site

Then on a weekly basis I will

@ Do One Squidoo Lens
@ One Hub Page

Thanks

I've been in the planning mode for a couple of weeks and pretty much know what I want to accomplish. Not everything will be listed on this challenge. Therefore, the main focus this year is on:

1. PLR Creation
2. List Building
3. Get systems in place on pertinent sites

My commitment is to:

1. Write one piece of PLR content per day (at least).
2. Write one autoresponder, blog post, or article for marketing purposes each day.
3. Perform one task each day to get all pertinent sites up to date with Aweber, DLGuard and JROX and whatever else I need to do throughout the year to get all systems in place by 2013. Includes learning more about each system - I'm definitely on a learning curve, but this is important to me to get everything set up so that I can put each one to its best use.

I know I'm going to create at least one info product/report, hopefully two or three, but need to pace myself right now.

Love this challenge and am looking forward to 01/01/12.

What fun! There's nothing like being accountable to keep me on track. I've just picked up a weekly business planner WSO and I think that, plus this challenge, will help me be more productive.

I'll be making plans on a weekly basis because I homeschool my kids and I sometimes get called into work at short notice, so my days can be unpredictable.

So, weekly, I will:

1. Work on one niche plr blog with graphics, content and keyword research. I'm looking to try something different than my usual activity of writing plr content, and I love wordpress. Why not combine the two? I'd like to aim for half a blog a week, ie have one new plr blog ready every 2 weeks.

2. Write 3 pages of content for my own products.

3. Write one 5 pack of plr articles for my store.

That should be quite manageable for me.

Look forward to seeing how everybody gets along with this :-)

Wow!

Look at all this fresh PLR coming out in 2012. I can't wait!

Here's my list:

1. Post fresh PLR to my PLR site every month.
2. Write stuff to help people get unstuck.
3. Read books about marketing.
4. Get off my butt and exercise so I can show you all my 6-pack. Abs that is.
5. Go fishing, biking and take Dad to Atlanta to see his son and family.
6. Run a community Tom-Cat-aThon every quarter to help reduce the number of unwanted cats in this community. Boys first because they are cheaper, faster, and can almost do it on the run.
7. Support my fellow PLR'ers by re-tweeting all their new PLR tweets...hmm

Twitter

Ok. It's on the books.

Tiffany, I welcome this challenge as I have been in kind of a rut and just coasting along.

So for 2012 I will continue to:

*Build my own blog network and have one new blog up every two weeks.

*Give two of my main sites a makeover and post new content every other day.

*Get my Kindle and other self publishing projects finished.

So to that end I will create content .. do the research and write at least 300 words per day.

Learn the new shiny tools I have and use them (not just wishing I knew what to do with them), so that will be a couple of hours of study per day, and actually using them .. even if I screw up.

I will do the research I need to finish my self publishing and I plan on an hour of that per day.

And I want to learn back linking and list building a lot better so I will put in some time to learn more of that as well.

I look forward to sharing every week and promise to be honest if I fell off the wagon or not.

So here goes ..all the best to everyone and let's get 'er done!!

Great challenge Tiff. Leave it to you to motivate us all. Gotta love you.

Unfortunately I'm not as prepared as others so I will have to give it some thought.
Definitely need to work on organization and quit with the new shiny object syndrome. Maybe one of my goals will be to make it all the way through one shiny object before allowing myself to purchase the next. I know that sounds crazy. lol; what can I say.

I'll put some thoughts on paper and see what I come up with. Thanks for the booty kick and the coming discipline, count me in.

Hi all,

This is a great challenge, something I will definitely need motivation with, and follow through till the end. I start a PhD early next year, so have to be conservative in my work estimate towards my blogs and online marketing. I think 20 hours a week is a good estimate for me to work with.

I think its best I break down my goals by year, month, week and day (in case I miss my day goals, I can get them completed within the week, and so on...)

The business model I wil pursue is concentrate on 2 blogs (plus one personal, or PhD related, outside the realms of this committment).

Where I want to be on 31st December 2012.
- A successful blog in freelancing, with 1,000 subscribers
- The above blog should have 100 blog posts in 2012, with at least 10 guest posts.
- At least 5 products/ebooks
- At least 10 PAID freelancing coaching/mentoring purchased through the blog.

- A nicely created blog in online marketing
- The above blog should have over 1,000 targeted subscribers, perhaps in multiple lists.

- An overall income of over $1,000 per month (Does not include my freelance writing income)
- At least 3 months in Freelancing income of over $2,000 a month (20 hours a week for this) (Currently, its just over $1,000 a week)

- I have a plugin idea in mind, would like to speak to a developer about it. Its a VERY big idea, so am scared of letting the cat out of the bag too soon.

I think 40 hours a week (along with my PhD) will be sufficient for the first year, will look to cut down in the next year.

Monthly Goals:
In order to achieve above targets, here is what I will have done by the end of every month:
- Add 100 subscribers to both blogs
- Have 9 posts on both blogs (Online marketing blog starts in Feb/March)
- One ebook/report every month. Atleast 15 pages and worthy of a paid product. By the end of the year, I could bunch them

up and sell with PLR rights, perhaps.

Weekly Goals:
- Add 2-3 blog posts to each blog every week, no less (4 hours)
- Visit at least 5 new blogs and personally leave at least 20 new comments during the week (2 hours)
- Write 2-3 guest posts every week (5 hours)
- Do keyword research and make sure I am on top of my marketing endevors (2 hours)
- Spend some time researching more in my field, taking notes, working on reports, liasing with others and other admin tasks (7 hours)

These might seem rather generic, but are good if I want to have end obectives.

Daily Goals:
It is hard to plan an year in advance to see how things will progress, but I'd be happy to get close to these goals, and

even exceed them. I think its best if I concentrate on my weekly goals (I like flexiblity) and continue progressing week-by-week.

Sorry about the LONG post, but I like this idea, and definitely need more accountability and goals.

Thanks everyone. Look forward to more from you all

This is a great challenge! I'm in!

So far I don't know exactly what direction I want to go in and I'm in an experimenting phase. This challenge will help with keeping focus despite being all over the place *lol*

What I want to work on in 2012
* Niche sites for digital and physical products
* List building
* PLR shop
* Improve my writing

My daily tasks (so far, will probably change throughout the year)
* Write at least 500 words per day
* Make a content outline for the next day
* Do some SEO for my niche sites

Yeah, that really is a slacker's list LOL! But it's the bare minimum, so I guess it's ok.

Have a great 2012 everyone!

This looks to be a thread that is still on fire! It is very motivational to see so many who are making plans to re-focus efforts in 2012. I wish you all the best of luck.

I'm really looking forward to 2012 and all the things I am going to achieve! Here's my basic plan:

Business Priorities:

(1) Web Site Development (Authority Sites)
(2) Traffic Building (Backlinks, Forum Posting, Article Marketing)
(3) List Building
(4) Build Squidoo Lenses
(5) Product Creation - reports, ebooks, zazzle

Each day I will:
(1) Update two sites - research keywords, add content, tweak ads, etc.
(2) Traffic building activities for two sites (same sites as above) - half-hour minimum each
(3) List building activities - 1/2 hour min for each of two sites (same sites as above)
(4) Work on one Squidoo lens - one-half hour minimum
(5) Create one section of a product or outline/plan a new product

Thanks, Tiff, for issuing the challenge~~throwing down the gauntlet~~laying it on the line!!

We all need to have the courage to do the same.

And, since today is my birthday, it is the perfect day to commit!!

I have outlined 90 days of content creation, traffic generation strategies and product launches, both for myself and offline clients I will be assisting to launch their businesses to the next level.

Very empowering (if somewhat intimidating) to see all of the work laid out in intimate detail. Also incredibly inspiring to think of where we all will be when we set a determined goal and take intentional, focused action each day toward those specific objectives.

Deepest blessings to all fellow participants!!

I am hoping to actually focus next year. I have a successfull online store selling one physical product and because of the success I have enjoyed with that over the last 4 years I have flitted around like the proverbial butterfly making money here and there by luck not judgement.

So my focus areas will be:

1 Affiliate Marketing
I am going to totally revamp some of my existing sites in the aim of making them profitable and then to create new sites

2 Continuing to nurture my main business site and it's clientele.

3 Using more outsourcers and service providers to lighten the load.

For the first 3 months I will concentrate on updating those old sites. New themes, better SEO and promotion with new content.
I have a list of weekly and daily tasks taking shape ready for next week.

For the rest of the year I will build out a new niche site each month.

I haven't planned much for the 1st week of 2012 as we are out on Monday visiting relatives. I need to get blood tests on Tuesday AM, I have a Doctor appointment Wednesday PM and a hospital appoinment Thur AM. I think this will give me 2 and a half days only to work as there is a lot of travel involved, I am planning to outsource some work to Fiverr to help.

I, too, have been floundering around. Although I've made the most money I ever made on the internet in 2011, I liked the taste of that success and want more.

My focus area for 2012 is:

Graphics!

I want to use what I find in the public domain, enhance them and make it available to others as royalty-free material.

Another goal:
A product on finding paper products in the public domain and converting them to profits. I actually have it outlined.

What I will do daily:
(this is the tough part for me)

-before I go to bed each night identify the one activity that I will complete the next day that will move me toward one new product every week.
-it may be finding some graphics, scanning photos/books, if it's something written, at least one page per day.

**Right now I have 3 digital image products that I want to put in my Etsy store that needs to be opened, so my first goal on Sunday is to get the store set up.
***I also identified an brand for me....Kristal Publishing. So I need to get that web site set up, too. However, one thing at a time or I will get overwhelmed and do nothing. Focus is a good thing!

Whew-that's enough for today because my brain hurts!

Happy New Year everyone!
Tracy

3 -set up a membership ste

My daily work will include:
write two articles
working on list building tasks 15 mins

I love the ideas and goals on this thread already.

I have not done much this week as I took the time off to spend with my husband! I agree with Patti to live life and to get and stay focused.

My goals for 2012 are:

1. Create content for my two PLR stores.
2. Create a membership or coaching program to help my customers actually use their PLR.
3. Find higher paying clients for my freelance business.
4. Work on creating some Kindle products.
5. Get my husband out of the job he hates so much before it causes big problems.

Staying focused is a huge issue as it is too easy to go off on a different course way too often. Monday I will be planning out my goals and want to map out my content creation for my PLR sites, this way I know exactly what needs to get done!

Thanks for this thread Tiff!

Hi Tiff
I have been pondering your 365 Day challenge and have just decided to take the plunge. As I work full time at the moment it is can be difficult but this might keep me on track a bit better than I have been doing over the past year.

My commitment is:
Write one article a week for my main blog which is my passion
Write one article a month for my second blog
Write one guest post a fortnight for any of my sites
Write one Ezine article a fortnight for any of my sites
I also have four new sites that I want to set up, one a small niche site by the end of January, the second a fun one close to my heart by the end of February, the third by the end of March and the last one by the end of June.
I also am going to spend 2 hours a week dedicated to learning as I am still in that phase, so that will mean reading ebooks and checking some of those sites that I have bookmarked!!

Wow, I was getting overwhelmed just reading everyone's goals for the challenge! Then I realized that most of the people probably aren't working a full time job PLUS trying to get online businesses going. This IS supposed to be a slacker challenge, right? ;o)

So, here are my goals for the challenge (weekly instead of daily):

I will dedicate 5 hours a week to working on my current business website, which will include various tasks such as creating an autoresponder series of emails, a "give-away" for signing up for my newsletter, adding new content on a weekly basis. Also creating a welcome package for new clients.

I will dedicate 10 hours a week to study the methods of the latest shiny object I bought and implement them. My goal is to have monthly income from affiliate sales of at least $3,000 by the end of Dec, 2012.

As I study the materials, I will be able to put down more specific tasks weekly.

Thanks, this will be fun!

Great challenge Tiff.

I just was informed I no longer have a 9-5 after January 31st, 2012. I'm crushed and still need a J-O-B but it is clear...now more than ever that I need to stop lurking, procrastinating and hoping something great will come my way magically. Only hard work, consistency and creativity will get me to where I want to be...which is...to be able to supplement my income to pay off my student loans and help my daughter with her college costs.

In 2012, I want to focus on:
1) My own website for PLR and ghostwriting services,
2) Finishing my college scholarship blog and monetize it,
3) Get my affiliate business going

Weekly, I will:
1) Write 1-3 PLR articles,
2) Actively post to my college scholarship blog 2-3 times a week,
3) Learn and work on affiliate website 5-10 hours per week

I am trying to think in the sense of have the flu and having to finish all these tasks. I think I can do it.

Again, great challenge Tiff...thank you for helping us focus and prosper!

Hi Tiff and all,

My 2012 New Year Resolution for the entire year: FOCUS, ACTION, DEDICATION >celebrate the journey.

/A. Affiliate Marketing
1. Focus, but not on perfection.
2. Implement with speed - even accepting the flops
3. Branding a unique selling proposition/s (USP)
4. Maximize on conversions rather than just traffic
5. Stop feeding my addiction to wso's and IM products.
6. Hard work that translates into consistent profits - not just an endless monotony of busy work.
7. Looking to outsource some of the basic IM aspects of the business

/B. I will continue with my adventure in plr space and build my hobby site - plr mastery blog.
1. Transfer blogger hosting to its own hosting
2. Monetize it
3. Update it more - at least 1 new post each week
4. Optional: incorporate PLR ATM into it. (not yet)

What I do daily?
/*Do at least 3 major tasks daily that adds up to reaching my overall monthly goals consistently.

/Balance IM with life and just enjoy the journey. IM means to an end goal/s.

Happy New Year 2012 - to success and more! )

Go... Go....Go!!!

//////////////////////////

Nov 2012 Update: I am happy to report that I followed through on most of what was on my 2012 Goal task list. I still have a lot to do and improve on, but all in all.... a good over all 2012!

I am looking forward to a greater 2013! If I could leave one piece of tiny wisdom that I learned from 2012 is that despite many distractions, detours, and challenges... life goes on... and Internet Marketing goes on and with it... we can still work and enjoy its many facets despite the challenges that comes with it.

Celebrate life with IM - cheers to success!

+Faith @plrmasteryblog

I have been thinking of a PLR site for a while now and recently bought PLR ATM. I have been plugging away at it and plan to have my site up with a least 2 packs by the end of January. I plan to focus only on my PLR site this year. Looking forward to reading alot success stories!

I finally focused long enough to write down where I want to be at 31 December 2012.

I'm going to focus on 2 business models - creating sites for sale, and affiliate marketing.

Therefore every day I commit to:

Building one website for sale
Writing one full piece of content for one of my affiliate sites

Thanks Tiff, you're always an inspiration
