Warriors, Having just returned from Kuwait 6 days ago, my wife and I have decided to invest in a fairly high ticket item (I guess that's subjective...)-- a $648 Sony RX-100 camera. I'll be purchasing it, today, via Amazon. With several events on the horizon, such as the birth of our newborn, we are really looking forward to purchasing this camera. ....Rather than letting the purchase go without anyone receiving a commission, I thought it would be fun to hold a little contest. The reward: I'll purchase through your Amazon affiliate link that you provide me via Warrior Forum PM. I plan to purchase it, later on today (after 8:00 PM EST).....at 8:00 PM EST, I'll pick one response here as a "winner". If you're interested in participating, I'd love to hear two things in your response to this thread: 1) What is one lesson you have learned from Warrior Forum? and... 2) How have you applied that lesson to your online endeavors/business?...and what was the result/outcome? (Think quantitative...increase in sales? how much? $? %?) Here is how this will work: 1) Formulate your best response to the above questions, and post it in this thread. 2) At 8:00, I'll review all the responses. 3) I'll pick a "winner" and contact you via WF PM. 4) I'll ask you for you Amazon affiliate link. 5) I'll click it and purchase the camera. 6) You earn some $$$$. Too easy. .....because of Amazon's inherent Performance fee structure, the "reward" will be different dependent upon how many items you have/will refer and ship this month. Total Items Shipped Referral Rates (All Categories except Consumer Electronics) 1 - 6 items = 4.00% 7 - 30 items = 6.00% 31 - 110 items = 6.50% 111 - 320 items = 7.00% 321 - 630 items = 7.50% 631 - 1570 items = 8.00% 1571 - 3130 items = 8.25% 3131 + items = 8.50% |

ah...apparently I didn't read my own post...lol Apparently this doesn't apply to "consumer electronics"....I'm "assuming" a camera would be "consumer electronics" right? It was a good thought...sorry about that... |

| At first I wasn't going to take you up on your competition, but after a few minutes of thinking about the when/where/why my IM journey took off; I realized it was because of one man and I have never thanked that man. So this post is more a thank you letter, than a competition entry. I first discovered internet marketing in 2004, via Allan Gardyne's website. For the next two years I was consumed with internet marketing and had a lethal case of "paralysis by analysis". I spent 95% of my time learning, reading, and going from one tutorial and course to another and spent very little actual time building my business and making content. Almost all of my time was spent spinning my wheels from one guru's newsletter to another. At one point, I had over 60,000 unopened emails in my Gmail account, mountains of get rich quick mailing from all the squeeze pages I had signed up for, looking for the magic bullet that would make me rich. Two years later, in 2006 I think or close to it, I had made probably around a total of $90.00. Yes, in two years or so and after all that time wasted (2+ hours a day on average) I had probably not even made a hundred dollars. Then, on the warrior forum, I came across a post that changed everything for me. It was a post by a marketer named Willie Crawford, and it was a challenge. He was challenging everyone to stop educating themselves and to quote: "TAKE MASSIVE ACTION NOW!" - Willie Crawford Those words sparked a fire inside me, an epiphany, and completely changed my IM journey 180 degrees. I quite spending all day on the Warrior Forum (except when I got stuck and needed help) and I unsubscribed from countless marketer's newsletters. I zipped up a gig or two worth of IM courses and files and stuck them on an external hard drive on the shelf, away from my computer. I printed out Willie's "Take Massive Action Now" letter and taped it on the wall above my computer monitor so I would see it every time my eyes drifted away from the monitor. I immediately took action and picked a niche I was interested in and ran with it. I built some free blogs around my niche while I was searching for a wholesale supplier who did drop-shipping. I found one 45 minutes away from me and I paid $15 online to get a sole-proprietor business license in my state, and registered for a merchant account with the wholesale supplier. I bought an eBay storefront and started listing items. I plugged my eBay store on the niche blogs and within three months I was making over $100/month and within 5 months or so I was making over $600/month. So within a few months of taking massive action NOW, I improved my income by over 100% by simply DOING instead of learning. Now, I still do not make enough to quit my day job, especially after Meg Whitman left eBay and they doubled their fees, but I now make a nice side income that supplements my day job. I spend more time trying things out for myself now instead of buying and reading everyone’s courses and how-to guides and although I am not able to buy my own tropical island... yet... I do live better than before and my business continues to improve every year. I am still learning, but it takes up 5% of my time now instead of the most of it, and I am far better off now than before because of that change. So, it may be really belated, but THANK YOU Willie Crawford, your words inspired me onto the path of success, which is still journey I'm on, but I am well on my way! Take care, - Sean P.S. I would also like to officially thank Allan Gardyne for bringing me into the IM world in the first place. Thank you Allan! |

I'd hate to spoil the fun in a contest but may I bring to your attention to the following clause in Amazon's TOS for Associates: "29. You will not purchase any Product(s) through Special Links for use by you or for resale or commercial use of any kind. Similarly, you will not request or encourage any of your friends, relatives, or associates to purchase any Product(s) through Special Links for use by you or them or for resale or commercial use of any kind. Further, you will not offer any Products on your site for resale or commercial use of any kind." |

Maybe a workaround would be to make a quick review for the camera and post it on a free blog or something.

Oops, certainly wasn't aware of that, thanks for the heads up. Will have to go back and re-read the TOS to make sure I stay within the rules. | |
