question, rules for finding legit buy

Hey I think I would like to invest in buying existing sites, but I know people have ways to make trash look like a gold mine. Can some one give me rules to use when buying to avoid scams? Also what are the general rules for figuring proper value?

Thanks, and if the answer is already out there sorry for repeat.

That is very true you have to be extremely careful when buying a site, sometimes if it sounds too good to be true, sometimes it is.

If I'm about to buy a site that has revenue claims or traffic, I always ask for the keywords the site is ranking for so I can do my own research.

Live screen share for serious buyers and sellers if they claim that the site is making money. If they only show screenshots it doesn't mean the site is a scam but at that point I usually do more research. Look at the site more have the seller take screenshots of the backend sales and video. PayPal account if he is willing to show sales within the payment processor make sure sales in the backend match the dates in PayPal.

Live screen share is always better!

Use an escrow service with terms of the sale so you don't get scammed.

It's the internet so people will try to scam you, you just got to make sure you don't just jump into something without doing research first.

Don't believe just anyone who is marketing on the basis of supposed gains or a sob story (why its being sold). Also, research the domain name and see if its sitting somewhere where it looks like it is getting traffic. Don't just rely on the sellers testimony alone. That's my advice.

Checking on keywordq isn't always enough. Maybe the website is "receiving" traffic from social medias so you won't find any ranked keywords. You need to check every angle. The traffic source remain the first thing you need to verify first. If the seller claims he gets traffic from S.E then you can ask for anaalytics acess and do you math. Otherwise ask the seller to give you the source and you can see everything by yourself.
keep in mind that the the traffic is the important thing

Things to look for depends on kind of website you intent to buy. However, the No. 1 thing to check is the site content. If the site content is not original, then any income claims also may not true.

Do some research on the person you are purchasing from . Secondly you can go on Alexa and get detailed insights on the website you want to buy.
