Should I Try to sell or let it die

I have been out of the IM game for a couple of years, as I have moved on to something a little more inline with my skill set and patience level. So now I am going through a lot of my domains and deciding what to do with them. I have let many of them expire, but a few I'm reluctant to just let die away because they are getting some traffic, or they have good names.

WarGuides.com

is an old clickbank conduit site. I built it and just let it go. Never really did much, but brought in a couple of hundred dollars a year. All html. I don't know what kind of traffic or even if it is still getting traffic. I know longer have access to the Analytics account that I was using. My clickbank account was deleted due to inactivity.

Is World of Warcraft still a thing? Perhaps this can be re-branded. Or perhaps using the word War puts it on some sort of governmental watch list.

Online valuation sites are throwing out numbers between $200 and $1,500. But I've never had much faith in them.

Should I try to sell it, or let it go?

I don't see much value in the domain. I'd just put it in various marketplaces with a Buy It Now price until it expires. If someone buys it, then great. If not - just let it expire.

of course you should put them to auction who knows someone will value much higher than you or anyone ....so don't just let them die just make them sell fast ......

Well, listing your domain for sale certainly looks like a better option than to let your domains die. Its possible that people might be interested to buy your domain. Even if you make $100 selling the sites, its better than letting them die I feel.

There is a hugely popular game called game of war. Perhaps you could re brand the site to match that craze and then sell?

I was literally thinking exactly this when I seen the domain name. There are commercials all the time on tv for this game, I suggest you look into using this domain for this purpose.

    Hi Dead Guy,

I was wondering if you already sold this website? Or is it still on sale somewhere.
    Let me know ASAP.

    Thanks

    See? Someone is already interested.
In any case, my "philosophy" is, before letting any domain name just die, try selling it, even if you dont' get rich from selling it, at least you tried.

Why are you letting this domain go away if there is still chance of getting it sold? I can see potential on this domain name you can develop it to the tutorials for the online games like dota, warcraft and many more. There are many war games out there. Gaming industry is so big. You may try it investing yourself again. Think of it and if you feel good then give a last try.

May be I am late replying this thread but anyway Its just my opinion. What ever you want to do with it I wish you best of luck.

in my opinion firstly you should try to sell this domain as soon as possible.. if anybody is not interested to buy then it will automatically die after some time... but you first try to sell it out.

Gaming niche is going to be more popular day after day. My opinion is making an affiliate site for Amazon gaming products so don't just let it die.

I think warguides.com would have some value. List it on Flippa....if you have held it for awhile then I'm guessing it has some age on it...that doesn't hurt the value either.

I would try to sell it for $75-100

    Just my opinion

You should sell. Somebody might find it valuable even though you do not. Put it in the hands of someone that wants it. Floor Jacks

one advice, never let your domaims or websites die. Either list them or wait for that opportune moment

Age is important, and like others said, you can revamp it and re-brand it to be up-to-date. But remember that when it all comes down to it - a website's worth is calculated by it's profit. I'd consider cleaning it up and selling it.

P.S. the free website valuation tools are always wrong...so you're right to not trust them.

After starting this thread, I did a 30 day listing on freemarket.com, with no noticeable interest. I haven't tried Flippa yet. Mainly because I don't have an account And all I ever hear about flippa is that its where scammers go to try to scam each other.

The domain has been renewed for two year.

I recieved two private message from people who said they were interested, but never heard back from them.

I haven't done anything else with the site, or any of my other dormant sites.

I have moved on to other things and really don't have the time to rebuild or re-brand the site. I could never keep up with the ever changing Google and IM world.

I will look into listing it on Flippa. I'll see if I can do a LIFI (List It, Forget It).

Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions

This sub-forum is really dead...even the moderators neglect it.

The domain is really good, so i will advice you two things..

First try to sell it, if you dont get good offers, then renew the domain and rebrand the website, I am sure it will give you good $$$$
