How do Viral Websites acquire images?

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of opening a website that will present all the latest viral news.
A similar example can be seen at It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Fan Site
I wonder how these websites get their images. Can you simply copy them from other sites
such as buzzfeed?
If you visit viralnova.com for example, each post has a featured image.
Where they get all the images?

    They are either syndicated content, provided by the person/company who have supplied the article, or stock images. Either way, a lot depends on the exact type of images you need. There's always a means of getting hold of them for little or no money, without resorting to plagiarism which is simply not worth the almost certain trouble it will incur for you.

      A lot of times they are straight up jacked.The biggest sites get them user submitted though. I remember one affiliate getting sued over a very tiny site he had about video vixens....

      Remember that the internet is global so certain people might live in places with little or no copyright laws.
