I'm confused: why do people sell a passive income websites

Hi. So the golden question:
Why the hell would anybody will list for sale his great website with a mostly nice passive income...?
I just can't understand it... especially when the usual price for a website is X8 - X14 then the monthly income...
I think, that maybe it's better to just go ahed to website owners (that you find via google or somewhere you can see they are legit) and offer them to buy it.
I have a very big budget to purchase a website but I just can't seems to find something legit enough on Flippa...There is maybe any services or a consultant that could help me purchase a good website? I'm looking for one for a very long time... maybe you know something..
What do you think?

    Empire Flippers I think provides that service but the sites they sell can be expensive.

      Feinternational is meant for sites generating $10k and up on a monthly basis...but that's just my guess.

    Very likely because they do not have time anymore to keep it running, and/or they may also want to pursue other avenues.

    It is a myth to believe that a passive revenue website can bring in incomes for life without doing a single thing ever. While one can really generate passive income from a website, one must still keep on going with a minimum of required activities, even if it is just a few hours per week.

    I would like to disagree that there ain't no LEGIT sites listed on Flippa.
    I am a seller on Flippa and have also bought several sites that work PERFECT.
    Obviously, No place is 100% scam free.
    YOU have to do your due diligence and research before buying any site.

    Well, I have over 100 sites currently. It's getting a bit insane to try to maintain them all. Sooner or later I will evaluate their income and I will dump some of the worst ones. They're not bad sites and I'm sure some people could buy one and easily improve the profitability.

    Well the reason for selling passive income websites are as under:

    1) The developer is a website flipper (The one who sells website after development)

    2) He/She needs money.

    3) In passive income site you get money monthly, whereas if you sell it you get money instantly that too twice or thrice of the monthly income, this is most common reason to sell the site.

    4) Don't have time to maintain the site.

    5) Starting up a new site.

    Let me know if I have missed any point..

    There are many reasons. Sometimes people own too money websites and want to sell a few to get cash in hand.

      I'm selling all of my digital assets (over 70 websites & PBN sites) because I simply don't have the time to manage them any longer since I've begun working for the Feds as a Pen Tester (ethical hacker).

      I've been in Digital Marketing for 16 years and it's been incredibly profitable, so you're on the track.

      I'm gradually selling off my assets to colleagues and friends because Flippa is a lesson in asshole/scammer vendors and buyers...who needs that drama?

      If you're interested in a purchasing one or a few passive income sites that are legitimate, just let me know.

      In the meanwhile, I suggest you find a niche market that you can be passionate about and pursue that avenue for profit.
