Need help with a 'money making domain name' (can i check if there is traffic going to these names?)

Hey guys,

currently i have a website based around affiliate programms.
It is mostly about MLM revshares and Crytpocurrency.

The thing is that we feel like our website name is not the best and i does not tell the customer what our website is about.

I was wondering if there is a way to find out if there is already some traffic on a website that is not in use yet. Since all the best ones are for sale for $2000 (not an option) i came up with some names but i want to be able to check if there is some passive traffic going to these names.

Your website domain name is not necessarily that important unless it conveys something completely unrelated to your content. For example, a website promoting 'zebra food' called bestbottledwater.com would be bad, whereas bestnutritionals.com isn't necessarily bad, even though it doesn't seem related at face value.

The content, trust and traffic of your site does matter, regardless of the sites domain name.

The first thing I would do is research your own domain first to be sure that what you believe could be a 'name' related issue, isn't something else instead.

If you still what a new domain name with some existing traffic, you can search for an expired/expiring domain from a few places, with some of the more popular being:

    https://www.domcop.com/
FreshDrop.com | Expired or Dropped Domains | Domain Name Search
    https://auctions.godaddy.com/

NOTE: It's possible to find expired domains with statistics that are appealing, but other marketers may also be looking in the same niche, which means the prices will be higher and/or you may end up in a bit of a bidding war.

There are also tools used mostly by marketers creating private blog networks (PBN's) to find domains with existing authority. These are pretty popular:

NEW Project Lazarus: Expired Domain Crawler Scraper
Welcome to PBN Lab: Expired Domain Crawler

I always recommend using a .com domain. If I must have a specific domain name and the .com is taken, then .org and .net are acceptable. But I would change the domain name before choosing any other TDL.
