Realistic Domain Calculator sites

All sorts of factors come into it I believe, from when you first registered your domain, the links going back to it etc... If you have the domain Water.com Bottled Water | Delivery Service you still can't guarantee it's worth a lot in respects to a return on investment, value of the products within, but it's how much some one is ultimately willing to pay for it.

None of the automated tools are going to be realistic measures.

It is only worth what the market will bear. Is there some religious significance to the name that is not obvious to me?

If not, I'm afraid the domain is pretty average and easily replaceable - in other words, worthless on the open market.

Unless, of course, it is attracting a significant amount of free traffic or actual revenue (which it does not appear to be). You might get a little bump for the age of the domain as well.

Barring any surprises, any valuation you get over $20 is going to be untrustworthy.

I think that Valuate.com gives values that are more in the realm of reality. Valuate gives a value of $1000 for your domain. You could also just post you name on some of the domain forums under "make an offer" and see what kind of offers come in for your domain.

Valuate.com (uses domain appraisal algorithm from Estibot.com) can give overvalued & undervalued appraisals. I know one name I own has received an offer of 5x the Estibot/Valuate appraisal (human appraiser many years back said I shouldn't sell the name for under 10x that automated appraisal amount). I also have seen that automated appraisal fluctuate in the last few years. Automated appraisal systems are not accurate IMO.

Posting names on domain name forums also won't be accurate either. Likely - you won't get any offers. Heck - even live auctions at Freemarket, Flippa, Sedo also won't provide true market value IMO as the proper buyers may not even know your name is for sale.

Your domain name doesn't seem to have much value as Jack mentioned... but then again sometimes a buyer must have a name. We see that every week with reported sales at DNJournal.com weekly domain sales listings. Many of those names that sell for several thousand dollars I wouldn't bother ever registering in the first place.

The database hasn't been updated since last year but dnsaleprice.com does allow you to search "reported" domain sales from sources that have provided them info.

I know someone who bought a domain where the winning auction bid (on eBay) reached only $5000 but they sold that domain for $500,000 later on (I won't say the name but it is a true 7-figure value name). So did the original auction determine the value was only $5000? Later selling price $500,000 accurate? 7-figure value as I feel?

I never trust this automate stuff.

There are no automatic services that can give a realistic evaluation of a domain.
Just experience can help you to understand the price range of a domain. But also the most experienced domainer can make wrong evaluations.

All calculators are rubbish. A Domain Name is worth as much as somebody will pay for it.

Personally I wouldn't listen to any website value calculator. I'd basically sell it priced this way..

That seems fair, especially if the purchaser has the potential to increase the websites growth.
