What are your Fees, Charges, and Costs?

IF this is the first question your prospects ask, your marketing has already failed.

Naturally people are interested in their pocket book, yet money shouldn't be their first thought when it comes to your services.

I used to try to use that question as a lead in to talking about what types of services I could help them with.

When I noticed that it was largely a waste of their and my time I stopped trying to "sell my services" and now I qualify the project.

Notice I said qualify the project NOT qualify the prospect.

This mindset makes a world of difference.

Yeah instead of selling your services it's MUCH easier to develop some sort of relationship with them (nothing big here, just talking to learn about them -- keep them talking). Then after you understand what their true problems are (not necessarily the ones they tell you) bring them up. If you're the first to verbalize a problem their having, it gives you an incredible amount of leverage on them because of the implied authority.

Then you can show them how the projects you want to do for them will not only solve their problems, but go far beyond that and leave them in an incredible situation.

The most important part of the entire operation is having them talk. It allows for you to learn a great deal about them as well as making them comfortable. Even if you're selling a cookie cutter service to them, you need for them to think it's designed specifically for their situation and because you're the expert on fixing that situation you're the one they should have do it.

I totally agree, many time the client tells you what their problem is and because they are so close to it, they don't catch it.

With everyone in such a hurry these days, taking time to pay attention and actively listen to what they are saying automatically puts you in a different league in the clients eye.

Branding isn't just for cattle anymore
although it sometimes can be just as painful.

During the days of the old west, you could see wranglers herd up cattle so they can use their ranch's branding iron to show who the cattle belonged to.

Branding today can have a similar effect.

In the old days, the stock yards in way off places like the West Bottoms of Kansas City you would find thousands of head of cattle, ready to go to market so the hard working rancher would get paid, and the cowboys would get their pay for a successful cattle drive.

The buyers would buy based on the Brand on the cattle.

The Brand was familiar to the buyers, and by seeing the brand alone, the buyer would know the health, quality and the value of what they are buying.

Been a warrior for several years now...and am just now getting into the coaching/mentoring business. I have a natural passion and ability to teach, and enjoy doing so for about anything in life. I specifically love business, and even more specifically "online business" (who would have guessed)
