Wow, I am glad to find this group.
I am new to ecommerce and I got started last March when I went to my first web seminar. I have spent a career in the construction and housing industry and as the market fell so did my job, I was laid off in December 07 just before Christmas and just three weeks after my husband underwent surgery for Esophogeal cancer! I was going to be 60 on my next birthday and my world seemed to be crumbling around me. I had to do something and I knew I did not want to go back to work for someone else. So here I am and somedays I feel like a kindergartener in a college class! I really jumped in and now I am building about 10 sites, I have formed a corporation to run my sites under and I have all the proper business entities completed.
I find myself frozen with fear when it comes to the marketing side of things, but have taken fear by the hand and am plunging forward.

Ecomgirl, good for you! I would say I am probably intermediate at all the marketing stuff, lol but I have learned by leaps and bounds the past few months. Another GREAT place you might want to consider becoming a part of is Earn1aday. I owe everything I have done up to this point to that place and the guy who runs it. Then you'd have us, and then some! Sorry to hear about your husband, my grandma has stage 4 breast cancer. It seems cancer is just spreading like a plague all over our planet these days. Anyway, stay strong, it sounds like you have made a great start, and that you are focused and determined, which is what will get you where you want to go!

ps, marketing isn't really to scary, it just takes some time to learn the techniques to be effective. I find if you take it in small doses, it is easier to digest.
