Best Way To Growth Hack A Clothing Brand?

If you started a clothing brand how would you go about building a huge following within a year of starting the business? What kind of internet marketing strategies or offline strategies would be best to implement?

Im a newbie, and these are just ideas, but they seem to be really good, I think the first key is you have to get rid of the traditional idea of marketing, buying ads, generating traffic, and focus on very unique ways you can start to grow your following/ list.

" I would contact semi-popular twitter/instagram girls (the most popular ones don't have enough time for you), ask for interview(s). Provide quality content and in return they can help your material go viral. I've done that with other niches and it has worked great."

    Thats from a fellow warrior

Another idea which i plan to implement in my business, is a referral system, such as offering discounts for every customer that comes to you and brings in another paying customer, or offer discounts for joining your list.

After reading what i've read so far i believe growth hacking is the best way to grow a startup, people just really dont give a shit unless you have the light of christ to give them, but even then it's tricky to get people to trust you at first. Its like a catch 22

Research what other tactics companies are using, im positive it will generate some good ideas

Ok so, this is something that I'm currently doing with a client, I'll give you 3 things that can have huge impacts very quickly...

Remember to keep in mind with all of these things, the most important things when leveraging other peoples audience, is making sure that the audience is interested in what you're selling, so do a bit of research on what kind of stuff they are into before throwing any money at these things.

    1) Find a celebrity that fits the style your clothing is, do a complete style break down of that person, these these things need to be awesome, we are talking do a years worth of breakdowns, break down 3 outfits and styles each month for a year, all in one document.

Pay a pro fashion blogger to write this for you, it needs to be really high quality.

You can then approach blogs and celebrity sites that write about this celebrity and even similar styled ones, and get a shit load of links and referral traffic very very quickly.

    2) Obviously pay celebrities to instagram your shit, this can cost around $10,000 for the popular ones but it can be worth it if you pick the right one, you can also get cheaper "fan pages" of celebrities that have big followings and are much cheaper.

If you can find a way to get the breakdown above infront of the actual celebrity it is about then they will generally tweet it and instagram it for free.

    3) Send a load of facebook ads to the breakdown, target people who like that celebrity and ones with similar style, make sure you are targeting the same sex that the celebrity is to filter out people who just find them attractive and lookalike audiences of those people.

Also target other sites and magazines etc that cater to this style.

AND ALWAYS SET UP RETARGETING PIXELS FOR USE LATER.

You can hack a clothing brand fairly quickly if you have enough budget, simply by leveraging other people audiences and appealing to them in clever ways.

Yes, I'm definitely thinking about paying some popular instagrammers to promote my clothing. I think that's a very good idea because people trust celebrities and they want to be just like them so if the celebrity is wearing the clothing and it looks awesome on them then their audience will want to join in!

  • massiveray is correct on all fronts, especially the retargeting pixel .That is a hugely valuable bit of advice!

Also don't forget about Pinterest, they have a Promoted Pins feature (similar to FB ads). It is definitely worth a look.

    Best of luck!!

I'd personally use a combination of Pinterest, some buyer apps like Wish and other Shopify-based apps that are similar (can't think of any right now) and you definitely want to send some clothing to influencers.

A celebrity wearing your clothing is the best hack for a clothing brand, since ever.
