Would niche following on twitter and instagram be considered growth hacking?

My twitter account goes up about 100 a day and my instagram goes up about 400 a day from just following accounts interested in my niche.

Would this be considered growth hacking? i have a webcomic so i am getting more fans/consumers by doing this and it costs me nothing.

any other ideas for growth hacking with a webcomic?

    This maybe me considered growth hacking. The important thing is that the people that you are following are very high targeted users in your niche. That way they will be more valuable. I have used this technique many times and it always works to kickstart a website.

      As long as you're following and building an audience related to your niche, then yes this is considered growth hacking

        Cool! Guess I'm doing something right then. I've had trouble monetizing from my followers though, I just put up a poster for sale on my website and announced it on Twitter and Instagram and only had one sale.. Any tips to sell more merchandise?
