There is no specific type of person who will become successful.
There are things that can stack the deck in your favour.
I don't know what sort of work you are doing/want to do so I can't even suggest any ideas for things to do.

        Hey Lee,

I would have to say there is no one trait or personality that makes someone famous or successful but a combination of multiple different things.

To be successful, I'd say you need at least these three things. This is off of the top of my head so bear with me.

#1 SHOW THE FU** UP! AND SHOW UP EARLY!
You can't be successful if you are never out there doing the things that other unsuccessful or moderately successful people wouldn't do. While other people are sleeping, guess what the most successful people are doing? They are up working, studying, or TAKING ACTION on something they know will help them succeed.

#2 They have lots of friends and make friends easily
If people don't like you, you're screwed. Who is going to support someone they don't like? Whether that means buying something from them, promoting something made by them, or watching their videos, etc. If people don't like you, they will NOT do business with you.

        #3 They never stop learning
What has amazed my by a lot of the successful people I have met is if I even mention a new idea to them or something they haven't heard of before, they are immediately interested. But more than just interested, they are genuinely curious to find out more about it and see how they could possibly benefit from it.

But as many of the people on here say, none of these things or much else matters if you take no action and that's what all successful people do. They take action ever single day. So if you aren't taking action, you aren't going to be successful.

My boss is a very successful entrepreneur. We must make over half a million dollars every month.

I was in a meeting with him the other day. He listens intently and doesn't actually say a lot. But when he speaks, he is able to very quickly recap what people have said and what we will actually DO about stuff. Also he is naturally very sales focussed, and that is the underlying theme of meetings with him.

Personality - You have to be a leader not a follower, someone who is prepared to take risks and cable of working alone as well as with others. I'm sure there are many other personality traits but these are just a few which spring to mind.

If everybody is telling you that you are doing the wrong thing or that's not how you do it, you are on to something. Successful people believe it or not feel alone a lot of the time and you must be able to cope with this.

Also every hit you take is a step forward not backwards. Successful people embrace this.

You can become someone else you just need to believe it.

Take action. Grab a microphone, make a recording, listen to yourself, if you can hear and understand what your were saying, you can only improve on that. Take little steps at a time until you are "market ready".

I have studied the work ethics and habits of almost every successful tech entrepreneur and following are some of the things they all have in common

    1) First and foremost, they're all passionate about what they do. They have confidence in their ideas and love for their business
    2) They are good at sales and marketing
    3) They have high tolerance for risk
    4) They have a long-term vision
    5) They are willing to make personal sacrifices for their vision

For everything you do/try, I think the most important is the determination (the famous "never give up") and the entourage (without positive support around, it's harder). Well, but I said "for everything" because I'm not (not yet at least) a marketer ; I'm a software author (something which required a high determination on the long run and support for the dark days -- when you didn't slept for 39h and you have the bad feeling that you'll never see the end of this fu**ing code).

any one can make to be a good entrepreneur but not every one. You have to overcome any boundaries, be initiative, risk taker, hardworking, eager and ready to learn. have a mind of positivity, always be persistent and be confident, work well with your juniors or seniors and you shall propel yourself to success. But it said that success is not a destination but a journey. therefore it will only depend on how you define success. thanks

Like any activity you pursue, there are certain musts that are required to be successful in a chosen activity. To legally operate a vehicle on public roadways, one must have a driver's license; to excel in sports, one must train and practice; to retire comfortably, one must become an informed investor and actively invest for retirement. If your goal is success in business, then the formula is no different. There are certain musts that have to be fully developed, implemented and managed for your business to succeed.

I'd only agree to this as a general statement for overall success; to achieve that you should know how to quit on activities that simply aren't working. Some people become too attached and refuse to give up on a clearly failing business, falling even deeper into debt. There's a difference between hanging on through tough times and knowing when the strategic choice is to move on to something else.

As they say we are most motivated by either what we really want or what we really do not want.

And trading hours for dollars for me was definitely not the way to go.

So when I was starting out I was more anti 9 to 5 than anything else.

A lot of people are missing the "famous/successful" part.

All manners of entrepreneurs have become both famous and successful.

I feel the level of fame generally depends on the willingness of the press to cover you.

    Examples:

    Bill Gates: quiet and reserved

Steve Jobs: Practical but crass at times

Richard Branson: Extremely chill yet gaudy

    Mark Cuban: Extremely Crass

What these guys all have in common though in terms of characteristics is that they all have mission and a philosophy on how they do things (that they stuck/stick to)

Successful entrepreneurs, from Henry Ford to Steve Jobs, share similar qualities with one another. To see how you rank against these distinguished entrepreneurs, do you share at least half of these qualities?

    1. Strong leadership qualities
    2. Highly self-motivated
    3. Strong sense of basic ethics and integrity
    4. Willingness to fail - Successful entrepreneurs are risk takers who have all gotten over one very significant hurdle: they are not afraid of failure.
    5. Serial innovators
    6. Know what you don't know
    7. Competitive spirit
    8. Understand the value of a strong peer network

The plus point here is understanding the value of strong peer network or the people who back you up. There is not one person who became rich by himself. Every wealthy individual had gotten the people of other people in one way or another in order for them to get where they are. They understand the logic in TEAMWORK. There is no "me" in a corporation but a "we" and people who have made it know how to appreciate people more.

    hey there

Entrepreneurs are innately driven to differentiate from the status quo. They don't listen when

someone tells them something cannot be done.

•Entrepreneurs are motivated by achievement rather than power

They set high goals that they can reach through application of their skills.

They are more interested in creating something than getting rich
