Startup Strongly - Sellup Quickly

Being a copywriter has many advantages. One of them is that you meet quite a few interesting people along the way. Definitely, the most fascinating category for me is young, aggressive, and dynamic entrepreneurs. You really have to have something to launch a life-changing startup not only for yourself, but for the hundreds of people around you. What's that got to do with me? Well, every startup begins with an idea, and this idea has to be described with words.

My dear Kickstarters, what has happened to you?

So, we begin to work as a team. I need to deliver catchy scripts for videos, engaging slogans, interesting content, and they on their end have to find investors. This is how it works. Kickstarter campaigns are an excellent opportunity to meet brave people, who have more courage and enthusiasm than the money itself, at the very beginning.

However, it is a sad fact to have to witness how the overwhelming majority of them gets lost in translation. Who am I to judge, but the temptations of the financial dance floor are too strong to resist. This is why, you quickly and easily most of them sell their startups very early in the development phase. I have heard it so many times and all of their stories are the same. I need this money, but I don't lack ideas. As soon as I get money for this, I am going to launch a new startup. Hey, I can make a living out if this. I could make a new startup every single year.

Do you know what happens in the reality of business life? This is their first and last startup. They spend the money and what is left is a memory of something great and promising that was once a huge dream worth fighting for. Now, you see why all those startup guys like me. I can be quite melodramatic when required. And as we all know, startups are all about drama and dreams.

To sell or not to sell, that's the question, now

So, what should you do? Play your own stubborn startup game against all odds and against all business gods. Again, who am I to judge? I have never had a single startup in my life, and I probably never will. If you can make money out of your own ideas, go for it. Or, you can make a history.

All that I'm trying to say is that this defeatism among startups is killing the fighting spirit. It's almost impossible to hear that someone wants to change the world. All that you can hear is, let's stick with this startup as long as it takes before a buyer comes our way. That's it, the modern startup philosophy in two lines. Here comes the melodramatic closing line. Oh, I would have given the whole world for a startup to prove me all wrong. Until the next startup, and the next sell up.
