Growth Hacking: Capturing leads / emails

What do you recommend we use for capturing "refer a friend to enter contest" type capture/tracking? Related to growth hacking. i.e. Dropbox (refer a friend and get 2gb free space)

    Every subscriber to the contest get a unique URL that they can promote. You can set how many point they will receive for a share, visit or subscriber.

    Winners can be drawn or selected from the platform and emails can be send automatically.

    The problem with UpViral is that it's not free.

      Thanks for this. So the search term I was looking for is: viral referral system

      I'll keep looking around but that seems fair price too.

    Looking for something where we can say "enter up to 5 friends email addresses to enter contest". Then that would invite them to the contest page or link to our App.

    You can code that pretty easy in PHP + MySQL, try to hire a warrior, it can be done in less than 1 hour.

    Why would you bother with this?

    How scalable is it?

    Like seriously how far can it take you?

    Wouldn't it be better worth your time & while to just look into other methods of making money?
