Unroll.me - shut up and take my money!

by wordsandthebees 4 replies
I've just found this absolutely amazing, awesome app that I had to share.

It's called Unroll.me - basically - you enter your email addresses and this wondrous piece of technology goes through your emails and unsubscribes in bulk, from any mailing lists that you're on that, if you're like me, you signed up for years ago and just keep deleting.

As a personal user, I'm in seventh heaven with the awesome app.

As a business user however - what the h**l are these people thinking!!

Most businesses rely on emails to contact their market and to make it so easy for people to unsubscribe in bulk is really rather concerning.

I just discovered this app today so I haven't' had chance to look into the legalities and indeed, ethics of taking people off of a mailing list without giving the owner a chance to retain them.

Has anyone else used it or has any experience? I'm swinging like a pendulum on whether this is the best, or most dangerous, thing to happen to email marketing?!

Very nice tool, especially for those who wish to stop getting SPAM promotions for marketers who simply push offers 24/7 and no real value. Will save a lot of people a headache of doing it manually!

To get rid of spammers I think it's absolutely perfect!
For genuine marketers who put a single step wrong? I think it can be quite damaging.

      How do you differentiate?

haha wow.. this is interesting. No experience with it but the concept is interesting.

My initial opinion is most won't want to unsubscribe "in bulk". Meaning I want to unsubscribe from 95% of stuff, but theres still that 5% thats relevant to me...

Are there any new developments with this app. How do you keep the emails you want to keep?
