Why is blogging so important?

Everyone knows how important it is that they update their website with regular blogs but because its so time consuming to create good content, blogs are often something that get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. I'm always reading that blogs are important but I thought Id share a few tips on WHY they're a part of your marketing that you must give due care and attention to if you want to experience MASSIVE growth in your area. Tip - its not just because they make a fun story!

SEO.

Keyword rich content need I say more!

You'll prove yourself as an authority in your industry.
What better way to stand above your competitor than by showing everyone why you're better? Blogs are a great platform to share your knowledge and experience while educating the public and getting them to trust you.

You'll give a point of difference to your competitor.
With thanks to the internet the world is getting smaller and consumers have way more choice. Each of your competitors are making the same promises that you are, in a not so different way. Blogs help you to stand out from the crowd, build your brand, and allow your own personality to creep in to your marketing so that your market not only trust you, but now they like you too!

You could go viral!!
As we know, going viral is not something that needs medical attention but something that everyone with an online business strives for! Publishing a witty, engaging and informative blog has the potential to make your brand an overnight internet star if it lands on the right screen. The internet is an incredibly powerful marketplace and regularly providing fresh content means that any second now you could strike it gold!

Think of how many times you click 'share' on a Facebook post per day, and times that by all the people using it! Its so easy to share content on social media sites that your blogs need to be out there too. They have the potential to reach the other side of the world in minutes. But only if they're good enough.

People stay on your site for longer.
A little secret here Google rewards your site based on how long people spend there. This is how they prove that they've provided people with the information that they're searching for. A site rich in key words and phrases with content that people are actually reading count your extra Google points here!!

Blogs count as quality backlinks.
A backlink is a link to your site that someone else has referenced in their online material. Google rewards the number of times your site is linked naturally. Its a classic SEO method and it works. Write a blog which appeals and if someone else references it, you're improving your SEO without lifting a finger.

Now you know why all the cool kids are blogging and how they're doing it, the only question left is why aren't you?

Writing blog posts on the section of expertise or other topics will certainly boost your knowledge, creativity and method of analysing things over a personal level.

You will definitely get to discover people reactions on the same thing. Engagements which makes your site posts more interesting. Different perspective on a single topics will allow you to gather more knowledge about the same.

Producing a product/service is just half the story of any business. The ability to take it to ultimate customers differentiates the winners from the losers. In other words, advertising holds the key. Advertising may take different routes.

Blogging is probably the most economical route of all. Blogging allows dissemination of information across a wide spectrum for a high volume return too- considering the cost involved. A properly orchestrated blogging initiative can drive in hoards of customers/patrons to your products/services. It keeps the ball rolling even during slack times in the economy. All in all, blogging bestows boons at least costs and affords optimum mileage.

      Thanks Alisa,
      I couldn't agree more.
The other thing to note is that when you're blogging regularly and with intent, you just never know who is going to come across your post and what opportunities this might open up for your business. As you say, in slack times, blogging keeps the ball rolling.

Thanks for the information. Yes, blogging is very important. When we sit down and analyze our thoughts, insights, and ideas, we can construct sentences and paragraphs as our own insights and we can call it an art and the artist is yourself. Creating your thoughts is a small thing but publishing it on your own blog is another and you can practice it every day. Practice makes you feel and become better.

That is right. This is an informative post. Blogging is sometimes taken for granted but it is a big part of your marketing strategy. Sometimes potential clients or customer do not just buy stuff they need to be assured that you are legit by checking your background, where else can you see that or impose that you are a reliable company or business? It can be very simple but even blogs can generate passive income. Yes, it may cost you time but in return, it can generate more.

I think that there are really few website nowadays that do not have a blog. Two main reasons for that exist in my opinion. First, it is important to update content on your website on the regular basis to improve your rankings. Second, it is a possibility to communicate with your visitors.

I guess that depends on your niche, the size of your following, how relevant your content is and the quality of your blogs. It would be easy to saturate your audience by pumping out a whole load of worthless content but if you have useful stuff to say and people who are reading them I think you could get away with anywhere between two a week and one a fortnight to ensure consistency.

To get a better Google ranking regular blogs should be approximately 800 words, so it depends on how much time you have I guess!

The key point is that you have to create blog content that speaks directly to the person you want to target, connects with them, and makes them want to take further action.

basically if you can't write and don't know your target audience properly, the rest of it is pointless.

I couldn't agree more. If there's no strategy behind it then a blog on your business page is pointless with a capital P!!

Guess, this is one of those things we take for granted. Yes, we need blogs. Yes, we do some blogging. Yet, if you were to ask someone to make a list with the most important benefits associated with blogging, you will probably realize that after two or three points, you have to think hard to come up with a new one. Either way, it is a better world with blogs than without them, lol. Intriguing question. Thx. N

Blogging is awesome as it's easily accessible and you can reach unlimited people online.

    Blogging is important.

But blogging just for the sake of blogging is not really going to help you much.

However, taking the time to write high quality posts on your topic--posts that show that you are an expert in your topic/niche will go a long way in helping you gain credibility in your niche.

Which then in turn can help you sell either your product or an affiliate product--or build a list and potentially build relationships with the other top people in your niche, which can lead to even more exposure.

This is my views as well. Blogging for its own sake is futile. Having clearly defined intentions before you set out will make your efforts more fruitful. Strive for value and specific outcomes (list building, etc.) the rest will fall into place.

Some great tips shared! The best part about blogging is that it generates leads and this method can be opted by any type of business.
The main aim is to capture the right audience which is done through high quality content generation relevant to the audience and then to make your content visible by promoting it the right way.

If blogging is used rightly, it surely does wonders!

It is great to do blogging for brand awareness. But it will get you penalized by search giant, if you do it solely for link building. Focus on building brand via blogging. If you cant add value to the readers via blogging, don't do it. Your content should add value to the user, it should solve their problems.
