What would cause a 5,000,000 rank increase on Alexa in literally 5 days?

Hey all,

I own and operate AllTheCoolest.com

I installed the Alexa Widget roughly 3 Months ago, and have been hovering between 11-12 Million for my ranking the whole time.

I checked my ranking the other day, and to my surprise its now ranked in the 7,000,000 range. I was in the 11,500,000 range literally 5 days ago.

Its been about 2 weeks since I've added content, and to my knowledge, the only backlinks I've gained would be from a separate question that I posted on this forum last week.

Any ideas? This is my first website, and the whole thing is a learning experience for me. All input and opinions are appreciated.

    Keep adding content your rank will be gain very fast.

    Increasing Alexa ranking is quite a tedious task to do. Some known and proven ways to increase it to have their toolbar installed on every browser or computer that you own and make the home page as your website. You also need to refresh it and try different IP's each time. So if you have dynamic IP addresses available, I suggest you make use of them in increasing your ranking.

    I think quality content and social media marketing is still the best way to increase your rankings even in Alexa. It does not only hit your Alexa rankings but also with Google. Make sure that you post updated content and also relevant one's to your website. Engage in forums related to technology, I believe this is one factor that made a significant increase to your ranking as webmasters who manages the forum also checks your website if it is of relevance or not.

    Alexa rankings can be easily manipulated. You can use bots to visit your websites in the thousands and your rankings will shoot up. I wouldn't worry about Alexa. All you should care about is the right traffic to your website which converts.

    If you regularly add content or blogs to your website and perform SEO like ON/OFF page than Alexa ranking will be automatically growing up.
