What is the best keyword tool

Hi, I was wondering what the best keyword tool is. I need one and was considering Market Samurai. I tried the Google keyword planner, and found it rather useless, and difficult to use.

Thanks
Glenn

Google keyword planner is good if yo know the many ways it can be used... it has to be used differently now.. what is a good idea is tracking social information and organic search data right outa Google and social media sites.

I use The Rank Tracker software from SEO PowerSuite which is extremely helpful in using data like Google auto-complete queries, Competition analysis, Google Keyword Planner and many others. It has the ability to sort keywords according to KEI (Keyword Efficiency Index) to make you decide to (or not to) use a specific keyword making it easy daily function to detect hundreds of helpful keywords. I might be recording a video about it soon

I've got several tools over the years. The one I keep coming back to (granted for more than just the keyword tool) is Market Samurai.

If you have the money - consider SEMRush, SEOCockpit, or Moz Keyword Tool.
If you cannot afford the above - Market Samurai, or its faster counterpart LongTailPro will work.
If you are looking for something free - Google Keyword Planner will do just fine.

My favourite for some strange reason is Ultimate Niche Finder. It fasts forward my keyword research, and does that quite efficiently.

Every keywords tool on the market gets their initial search data from Google.

I have Market Samurai and... it definitely does get it's data from Google. In fact you have to have a Google account to use it. But it's a great tool. And it offers a lot more than just keyword research. For example you can look at the market competition, see who else is ranking for the same keyword, what they have going for them, what they don't, etc. This helps you to know what you need to do to outrank them.

There are also training videos available. Which I actually need to really go through because I've been using Market Samurai for over a year and I feel like I've barely even scratched the surface of what it's capable of.

Looks like a lot of people here like Market Samurai. I've never used it before...wondering what makes it better than the others talked about.

IT's not just a keyword tool. Has multiple uses beyond SEO competition too. Most folks don't take the time to learn to use it correctly. My suggestion is download the trial. I've used it since 2008 and always go back to it.
