Does anyone here use IBOToolBox, the acclaimed "safe haven" for internet marketers? I've been using their advertising platform which apparently is supposed to display my ads over their network of websites as well as their newsletter. Anyways i spent around $100 on 'credits', which can then be converted into impressions (because their ad network is ppv) to be used as a type of currency when advertising. According to IBO i'm driving at least 100 targeted visitors to my site every day from at least 3 ads. According to Google Analytics, Clickbank, Bit.ly, & JetPack, i haven't driven a thing. So what's going on here? Does anyone have any experience with this?

    I've had the exact same situation with their advertising, IBO showing a bunch of clicks and my tracking showing zero. I didn't pay for any credits, just used the free ones that are available almost every day as a test. I messaged support and asked about the discrepancy between their statistics and the third party statistics and they responded with;

"Excerpt from IBOtoolbox ad creation page:

ALL IBOtoolbox ads contain 2 links. 1 link is to your website, the other to your IBOsocial profile. External tracking software will not be able to account for all clicks on your ad.

IBOtoolbox will deduct impressions (based on ad cost) as the ad is displayed to viewers in the selected locations. IBOtoolbox does not guarantee nor is responsible for Clicks, Traffic, Signups, Optins, Sales, Likes, Adds, Click Through Rates, or ROI % from use of our advertising platform.

Why 2 links? IBOtoolbox is primarily designed to get you noticed and in front of like minded Internet Marketers just like yourself. Many IBOtoolbox members will click your second link to see who you are and to learn more about you vs.. look at your ad
    ."

Funny that I would have 100's of clicks on my name, and zero clicks on my ad. My opinion is that advertising through IBO is worthless.

A rather interesting fact I recently discovered about IBO Social, is that they don't allow their members to post negative comments towards other members...at all.

This means if an IBO member posts that their "product" is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and your experience says otherwise, you have to zip your lip.

Kind of ridiculous so you need to take their members reviews with a grain of salt.

I am a member of IBO Toolbox... I joined A) because it was free and B) To provide content to others their. I have to say, as time has gone on I have used it less and less, simply because I was getting zero traffic and/or connections from it...Bar those that wanted to 'push' their product on me and not build relationships.

Since moving away, my results have improved,so Its justified my decision.

The Ibotoolbox advertising system is worthless.

    1. In order to get credited free advertising the platform gives you, you need to click on other members ads. That makes the clicks your ad receives worthless. People are not interested on what you have to offer. They are only interested to get their free advertising credits.

    2. For an odd reason all my advertisements where receiving a fixed 4% clcik-through rate. I was running 5 ads at the same time and all of them were constantly getting 4% click-through rate. No more, no less.. Coincidence... I don't think so..

    3. My third party tracking service was showing 1 click to my ad. Ibotoolbox was showing 34 clicks. Also, Clikbank's hop counter also showed 1 while the ibotoolbox counter showed 34.

The service is worthless, it will only make you loose time...

I can confirm we are all seeing a 4% click through rate, yet our 3rd party system is showing no click through at all. However, we just go started with this assessment.

There are lots of MLMers who hang out at IBOToolbox these days, which was the reason why I signed up, as I'm into network marketing.

After a while my advertising credits started to build up, so I decided to use them on promoting one of my blog posts.

It wasn't too long before I figured that it was a bad move. As mentioned above, people only click on ads so that they can get ads. People were hitting my site, but they would bail out straight away. Alls it did was effect my bounce rate in a negative way, so I had to scrap it.

They need to stop getting people to click on ads in order to earn ads, because it's basically a traffic exchange deal.

I use to see IBOToolbox press releases rank well in the search engines, but I don't see any of them rank well these days. Probably because it got abused, and flooded with low quality content. Same thing happened to Better Networker. They need to have strict quality guidelines.

Other than those 2 features, everything else is okay, I mean, it's still worth it for me to get in amongst the platform. That's where my target market is, so that's where I need to be.

    • IBOtoolbox has become the "Safehaven" for clickers and spammers. What I mean by that is it is nothing more than a hybrid TrafficSwarm and safe list.

As a safelist it is the cacophony of everyone posting and no one reading. By spammers I mean the poor sap that joins up with a real email address and phone number is desending upon by a pack of rabid jackals pitching everything under the son. By a TrafficSwarm like sight everyone clicks on everything earning ad credits to display their ad, therefore all that clicking is not organic and worthless.

When Google finally figures out IBOtoolboxes' Google ad account is artificial traffic and not organic, their revenue source will end and that will be the end of IBOtoolbox.

What they do offer as tools is also pretty weak if you ask me.

Right now I have a moderate sized group of associates running paid advertising there just so we can write a serious critical assessment of that system. Trust me, it will be non objective and well documented just how effective that system really is.

This assessment will become a key article in my blog and posted as a PRlog press release.

When IBO first started, it was owned and created by Paul Williams. He had a vision for the system that made sense. Back then all the blog content would rank pretty well on the search engines. Every since he sold the system, it has been taking a downward slope in terms of getting results. I no longer use that system. But, I will say when I did use that system, the only way I made money from it was by picking up the phone and calling other IBO'ers and learning about their business. As we built rapport on the phone, business models were shared. The end result was about 45 people joining me in business. Over the years IBO stopped being a place to build relationships and started becoming a spam database. Associates spam their business to others even though it is strictly prohibited.

There was a time when I use to run banner ads there and had people convert on a capture page. However, that rarely happens these days. the click through rates no matter what you do, how many credits you purchase, or how great and flashy your banner is will also be 4% in the end. I see IBO as nothing but a huge phone book of prospects struggling to build a business and cant figure out why no one is taking the bait on the spam posts on the IBO wall. I will say for a new person just starting out it is good for practice to learn the rope of blogging, SEO and backlinking. You know, the same stuff you can do with your own domain and a wordpress blog.

Do NOT waste your money or your time on Ibotoolbox. My tracking revealed the same thing. ZERO clicks ZERO traffic generated from an above the fold banner...

I add my voice to the fact that IBOToolbox is a waste of time - it is full of MLM people of the worst kind, no one is going to click on anyone's links it is like 1st grader internet marketers all shouting into the same room and getting nowhere very fast. Save you energy, move along there is nothing to see there.

I researched IBO a few years ago. Only been there once and digested the business model. Haven't ever made another step on that platform due to what should be clear at an instant to anyone.

When you see a platform that grants free "ads" or "clicks" as payment for you viewing and clicking on other's ads, then that is the only traffic you're going to get - uninterested clickers who could care less for what you are offering.

When choosing a platform for potential traffic, you need to first look at the source (motivation) of potential clicks to your offer/site. That source needs to be targeted traffic (as in interested and looking to buy).

There is a target market on IBO, but it isn't what most people would realize when joining up - and there are many other platforms in this stage with begging markets as well.

The problem is that most IMers are so desirous of making sales online, they are easily led to overlook the most vital key features they really need - targeted traffic. IMers need to understand that targeted traffic is not only people interested or related to a niche in some way, but it also is typified by the mechanics of funnel entry. For this same reason many CPA advertisers do not allow co-reg and incentive traffic - the experiences above are what they don't want to pay for and why should you?

So, as I concur that IBO is not what many expect it to be, it is, in fact, a good market for specific niches that can capitalize on the common wants (still unrealized) if you should so happen to have those effective solutions.
