IFTTT Backlink Commando

So... I feel like a dunce but I have watched the sales video over and over again and I have not been able to convince myself that I understand exactly what this thing is doing and why I might care.

Was wondering if any of you have any direct experience with it and might be able to shed some light on this.

Thanks!
Chris

Chris, With so many emails about this thing. I did look at but just like you I'm not sure what it's supposed to do. But that is what's going on lately with IM products and it is also happening in the WSO

I'm not going to spend hours trying to figure it out if it does not make sense in the first few minutes then it is not something I want to spend money on! The video says nothing to me!

LOL... I'm glad it's not just me. I have some familiarity with IFTTT and I understand backlinking but I just don't understand the architecture of the sites and accounts and links that this thing is setting up. Seems like a classic case of the marketers being too close to the product and not making allowances for their potential customers.

      Thanks!!!

    Hi

Like you I had no idea what this was all about from the Sales Videos that I watched .... what a load of drivel. But I did find a video on YouTube, which has helped me to understand more about it.

I think it looks good, although I'm not sure I'm in the market for something like it just yet.

In case you haven't already seen it, take a look at this video, it might help It does have a walk on addon at the end which I guess is for a sales link, but that's nothing to do with me.

Thanks Kate! That helps a lot. My gut tells me that this is the answer to a question <grin> but I am having a hellluva time figuring out which question is being answered. I wish they had published a network diagram of the various accounts and links.... but I suspect that they feel like that is part of the secret sauce.

If it was only a question of money, I would jump right end give it a shot. Unfortunately, time is more precious than money and I don't want to start something that might not fit my plan... or something that my current plan can't be adapted to.

      Thanks again!!

Looks to me like a software that allows you to more easily build a network of blogger blogs and web 2.0s the problem is new blogs have no authority and won't help you rank quickly.

I can be wrong but I understood that it isn't wise to redirect to your money site with these blogs after Penguin 2 so I don't trust it.

And Chris, I always get very suspicious when sellers cannot explain in a few sentences what their product is all about. And I'm starting to grow a Todd Gross allergy to be honest........

Concur on all points. Todd is entertaining and a pretty good pitchman.... but I don't think he is as discerning as he should be.

I thought I was the only one feeling the same about Todd Gross. Even it looks like everything he has touched has turned to gold.

I bought the product and had to cancel because it did not work on my mac and had too much to do to be going through some special way to make it work.

Just to be clear.... I think my issues with Todd ... to the extent I have any.... result mostly from overexposure. Add that to the fact that I have strong feelings about some (a very few) of the people he has worked with recently and disappointments with some of the products... leaves me wondering if he could be a little more picky.

Having said that.... he is making lots of money and I am just making some money <grin>

I still enjoy his videos and pay attention to his recommendations.

This is an IFTTT Backlink Commando thread though.... and certainly not a bash Todd unnecessarily thread so I will try to avoid being so verbose on that side of the topic. Somehow, it doesn't seem fair.

      Cheers,

I didn't bother watching the video because it just looked like some sort of loophole the "IT" guy found after making his hot "new" discovery public: http://www.ifttt.com "If This Then That" has been around for a couple of years, probably longer.

I joined around 2 years ago but I don't think I set up the channels and triggers right because it kept sending me daily reminders to go fix something. Finally I just deleted the recipe for what is now headed for a disaster and haven't had time to go back.

The site is free so why don't you go there and ask the 2 guys who own the site what's going on. I seriously doubt they would ever support using their software for anything other than what they intended it for.

Actually, Tony has been building different Commando software systems for several years and this is not his first software the utilizes IFTTT. In-fact he has done quite a bit of training on how to use IFTTT over the past couple of years, and he is the first guy that I saw selling automation software that utilizes IFTTT.

I own a bunch of his products including Tube Social Commando, Tube Linkwheel Commando, Tube SEO Commando, Tube Research Commando and some others. This guy is no noob when it comes to Youtube, Linkwheels, IFTTT, Automation etc. etc.

I think it was January 2013 when he released IFTTT Linkwheel Commando so that was basically 2 years ago. He published this video on Jan 21, 2013.

Here is his IFTTT Backlink Commando Overview:

He has more than a dozen videos on his channel related to this system, and he has been a WF member since 2009:

    View Profile: Tony Hayes

Do note his last product thread was closed....

While initially I was excited to use some of his tools (and I still do use some features of a couple of them) I got a little worn out over new software release, after new software release, after new software release ---> all touted to be just what you need.

On top of that I did not always receive top level support, and at times some of his licensing servers went down and it started costing me more time than it was worth to track down the answers I needed to run those systems. Communication at times was not always his strong suit, and as I understand it, he does quite a bit of world travel.

Anyway, Tony has an active facebook group, and quite a few loyal supporters but I have decided to skip his most recent offerings. I have not used IFTTT with his system in so long I don't want to comment on what potential value (or lack thereof) using automated systems like this can have.

One last thing to note, sometimes to use all of the features of his tools other purchases may be necessary.

All of that said, when I was able to contact Tony directly via Skype, he seemed to be a nice guy and he was willing to make things right at the time.

    Best of luck to all!

    Cheers

Just the thread I was looking for - the sales page did not offer much relevant info - this was the info I was looking for - thanks guys -

I am now still wondering if this software will really help out as its a bit confusing.

When WSO's are sold without a thread on Warrior Forum, there is no way to judge the product via user's feedback - you just have to rely on hear-say or threads like this where everyone can pool their feed back together in one place.

I really wish that all sellers have a thread open for their products so that buyers can interact and evaluate the product before buying it.

The software is basically just a way to automate a process that can EASILY be done manually with the IFTTT.com website. So if you have 1 single site or 1 single youtube channel, etc then this software really is not needed at all. Since once you setup all your accounts, then your one set of recipies in IFTTT, then you are pretty much done.

But if you into affiliate marketing, have offline clients, do multiple youtube channels, etc etc...then this software can safe you a ton of time. Since you just have to push a few buttons in the software and it will create all the recipes for you for your new website, channel, etc. If you are fine with brand new social accounts, then it will create them for you as well. If you are looking for aged/authority social accounts like tumblr, blogger, etc to give your SEO a boost, you can easily add those to the software to build out your recipes with them instead of brand new accounts.

From an SEO perspective, he has a few different recipe templates that with either syndicate your content to a pile of different social sites/channels or the template will create a backlink tier to something like a tumblr page or youtube video/channel.

So if that is the type of SEO you are looking for and you can use some automation to your tasks, then this software is a good fit at a good price point.

His support, facebook groups and what not are quite decent and there are quite a few people using his other software that can help someone if they need it. Do I recommend the IFTTT Commado, .....YUP...does everyone NEED it...not at all...do you need it...well that is up to you.

I picked this up on Wednesday before the holiday weekend and really didn't get a chance to dive in. Didn't get the OTO.

What I've read since then hasn't left me feeling encouraged. In fact I started asking about it on an Explaindio FB group that I'm part of. One of the guys from the ITTT BLC team got on and said something to the effect that it sold over 5k copies so it must be good, and later over 5k people "liked" it (meaning they bought it).

I was a little put off by the "pitchiness" (is that a real word? Lol) of his response. That's like saying that because a certain politician managed to get people to vote for him and get into office, he's good at his job. I don't think it matters what side of the political fence you stand on - anyone would know that's ridiculous.

Just because people bought it doesn't mean it's a good product. My question about it was, What kind of results are people having with it? Of the people that responded, only this one guy who was on the IFTTT BLC team seemed to have anything good to say about it.

I'm tempted to just ask for a refund rather than investing a lot of time into learning it just to realize it's not worth it. I'm wishing I had asked around before I bought it.

I did end up asking for a refund...

I got an automatic response saying your ticket has been submitted. A couple days later I got an email saying that they were having support issues. Nothing since then. Not sure if I'm gonna get that refund or not.

As someone mentioned 'growing allergy', that's how I react to all the automation 'miracle' software bombardment recently.... Two years ago ( and it's like 'ages ago' if you're online) I bought the first version of this IFTTT commando and ended up asking refund : too complicated, makes no sense if accounts are new and even if you set it up once it's far from being forever. What follows are frequent, disturbing IFTTT notifications that something is wrong with this or that account, this or that recipe, so you need to be stretching your time all over those accounts and recipes over and over again, let alone headaches with software maintenance and ....no, it makes no sense to me.
Unless, maybe, for those who have many accounts, many clients and, of course, a team of assistants to bear with all those tasks...
