Any Recommended Staff Management Intranet Systems?

Has anyone got any recommended staff intranet systems?

One that can be accessed online from all employees and has a built in task management system that interacts with the customer first and also manages staff?

I haven't a clue what to search for so all help is appreciated.

I use a combination of basecamphq and google apps - works like a charm!
