I would go with hostgator. There support is top notch and the response time is very fast. I definitely recommend them to anyone considering hosting wewbsites. Now that the also have VPS it is great for people wanting dedicated ip addresses without the costs of a dedicated server.

Kiosk should close down for shame of being the most problematic, joker host I've used in my entire life. This was back in 2008.

They were going down like crazy. And server load is consistently ridiculously high that your sites will load painstakingly SLOW (loosing most of your visitors).

This went on for 1 whole year. Infact the situation and my opinion of them is far less then words can possibly describe. Doubt anything is different now in 2010, knowing how hosts work.

Only reason why I went with them was a famous internet marketer recommended them.

Hostgator gets 10/10. Their servers are configured to allow X% of nodes/resources per account. So you'll never find yourself on a server whereby it's slow/downed due to another abuser or busy website on that server.

I've used Kiosk and hostGator both, reseller accounts on both.

I will be the first to admit that Kiosk and I have had some seriously harsh words from time to time - BUT the move to the new data centers has gotten rid of the server issues - and there aren't many companies where the CEO takes the time to call you and discuss the problems.

To compare today's Kiosk with 2008 is really not fair. If you are a serious IMer, and run a lot of sites, handle your own mailing lists, etc (which I do) - I don't think you will find a better company out there. They really do understand what we do, and the issues that can arise. Support is fabulous, and there are a lot of new features coming in that you won't find elsewhere.

I've tried HG more than once, and I think they are okay if you are running small sites with low traffic loads - but when I used their reseller account they were not using WHM for the control panel, which I really like, and Kiosk uses.

In 2008 - I would not have recommended Kiosk - today, it's a very different situation.

i started this thread before kiosk turned into an MLM style company - GVO. i am a member of GVO now and i would like to say that its actually really good. Unlimited Hosting, Unlimited Autoresponder, Free Video Hosting, and a lot of other features. its a one stop shop for a lot of marketers needs.

I use Kiosk (GVO), as this is very, very powerful hosting with all other tools.

Kiosk offers hosting, autoresponder (up to 25 000 subscribers), video recording, Webcast tool and more. You just get complete IM package with one provider and all for 44,95.

Think for a moment. How much you will need to pay for Aweber (25 000 subscribers), Hostgator and Gotomeeting?

Kiosk is the best option for IM.

I'm closing this thread as everything has been said and it keeps being targeted by people trying to pimp their signature files.
