Best copywriting course ?

Hey warriors,

I would seriously like to learn the ropes of good copywriting.

Could you tell me what is , in your opinion, the best copywriting course available. I saw a a lot of promotion for john carlton's new program a month ago but it's like 800 $.

Any good alternatives ?

Have you read the classic books on copywriting? There are
    a bunch of them.

Buy and read some of those. In France you might be able to
find something by Christian Godefroy, one of the all time greats.

I second reading books... And that thread is a great starting point.

I'm also a big fan of Paul Hancox's "Super Power Copy"... I really think he explains the nuts and bolts and little intricacies involved with writing persuasive copy extremely well.

He's a fellow Warrior, I bought it through a WSO he ran (not sure if he's still offering it) and I think it was worth every penny.

Books are cheap and a great resource though.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the book list thread Loren.

And scottspfd82, "super power copy" does look good (and it's only 57$, not 800!)

Yanik Silver's free ebook is pretty good as well. He is a Dan Kennedy's student, and the 14 points copywriting are all what you need to start.

The classic "tested advertising methods" from John Caples is also a book that must be read.

    Just see what you can find from these guys;

    Robert Collier
    Claude Hopkins
    Maxwell Sackheim
    Gary Halbert

I always keep books as every time I come to write copy I have to re-absorb the information to get the 'mind-set' if that makes sense.

I have found a couple courses online but they are rather expensive. Is it worth it? Are there other beneficial classes I can take other then general writing/journalism classes at a local college?
