I have been looking into an autoresponder to take the load off of doing everything myself and know about a webber and get response and many of the others and there pricing structure but I found a different one called rocket responder and they charge a flat fee of 20 bucks a month no matter how many people are on your list. Has anyone heard of them, are they any good?

I think you get what you pay for. Aweber is the leader and you never have to worry about your emails getting dumped into the junk folder.

I wouldn't use MailChimp if you are going to be in the MMO/Biz Opp niche. Also, from what I can gather from reading their TOS, even if you are in another niche, they are very strict on affiliate marketing of any kind. If you are going to be promoting your own product in a niche outside of MMO, maybe they allow it. I know a lot of affiliate marketers who have tried them and most of them have been shut down as they soon as they realize you are doing affiliate marketing. If you read this page specifically, it will show that they do not allow campaigns related to "Work from home, make money on online, and lead generation opportunities."

      Acceptable Use Policy | MailChimp

After reading a little more, it looks like they do allow affiliate links, but seem quite strict on what is allowed. Overall, I don't think it's a great choice for those of us in the MMO/Biz Opp/Video Marketing/Blogging/Facebook Marketing, etc niches.

I can definitely say from personal experience that TrafficWave is pretty good. However, they do not allow single opt-in at all and if you use their opt-in forms you must collect both name and email address, which will lower your conversion rate considerably. I have seen lots of people code their own opt-in forms however, so you can get around collecting names I think. However, there is no getting around the double opt-in. Still, if you are looking for an inexpensive but quite reliable AR, they are a good choice.

My advice for a newbie is to go with one of the big guys, those being Aweber and GetResponse.

TrafficWave has nice reputation too. They do have a double optin which may be a turn off for some people but it makes sure you dont receive spam complaints. Regarding pricing it has a flat rate too of $17.95

Aweber is the best auto-responder (email service provider) on the market. They get my highest recommendation.

    go with aweber.

Industry leaders put a lot of money to maintain their reputation and customer satisfaction.

You have to spend money in order to make it a big time return. Trust who are already in the race.

    Regards!

I think awber or getresponse are best and we should stick to them. If you are doing email marketing in a right way, you will earn your auto-responder's monthly fees in just an hour.

Thanks for all the comments and I know Aweber and get response are the big guns in the industry but don't forget at one point in time they were new also. There is also no reason that this new company can't be as good as either of the two most mentioned.

That is why I was looking for information on them. I have read a few reviews since posting my question and of course it could be that they are affiliates trying to sell this product but most of the reviews like it a lot and a few said they were switching from companies mentioned in the comments pointing out the cost as a factor. Anyhow again thanks for the comments and I will just keep looking for more information.

    Hey marks2424:

I was looking for an autoresponder solution and got Notification Pro: Facebook Autoresponder for a one time fee of $10! WAY better open rates than email b/c when u send that notification Facebook illuminates that "red dot" at the top of the users page that a lot of users click on.

Check it out, it may solve your problem b/c it does have an autoresponder.

There is some speculation that GetResponse emails end up more in the "promotions" category of Gmail than Aweber (a fellow MMO List sender sought feedback, and heard back from his list with this info).

Go with Aweber. Great delivery, and great support*.

*I mentioned/showed to AW Support that I liked one of the emails I saw from a list I was on that I knew was via GetResponse, they made me a template of it in the same afternoon.

I would still use Getresponse. The pricing wouldn't matter if you're looking to do this long-term when you're creating solid results. You're paying for your most valuable asset, your list.

$20 flat rate sounds good, but autoresponder services are not just about cost. There are a lot of factors to consider.

If your autoresponder company cannot offer a high deliverability, you might as well stop E-mail marketing.

Your messages need to hit the inbox, and not the spam or promotion boxes.

I use 3 autoresponder services, and I'm currently in the process of testing them: Aweber, Getresponse and Sendgrid.

I won't say one is better than the other. Sendgrid has the best delivery rate I've seen, but it lacks certain key features i need (like mailing to unopens etc).

But I get pretty much the same open rates from all 3, and they are the industry leaders at the moment.

I'd suggest that you go with one of these, rather than try out a new service that's probably not going to deliver what it promised. If you don't have much experience in E-mail marketing, you might not know that the lack of results is the autoresponder's problem, and not yours (I speak from experience).

I've tried them all over the years. I dumped them all and use only TW.

It may seem "less-than" but is actually the best in numerous ways.

I used Aweber for a couple years and there was nothing wrong with it.

Recently I moved to ActiveCampaign and have liked it a lot more. The ability to set up automated funnels with timed delays and different ways to enter a list are really valuable. $9/mo to start.

Aweber, Get Response, Mail Chimp...I've used all three and they are essentially the SAME. You can swap out one for the other and you're are esentially getting 95% of the same functionality regardless of the one you choose. My 2 cents.

For me there are pros and cons to Aweber vs. GetResponse. I like the features and ease of use with GR, but I do think delivery is a bit better with AW. I have have friends using both and they all complain about both.
