Almost a year ago I purchased Paul Hancox's SuperPower Copy video course. After completing it I sent Paul a PM in which I told him how much I liked it and that I would post a review. That review has been rather long in the making, and for that I apologize to Paul. But here it is:

The product itself is a copywriting course in the format of 17 video modules plus cheat-sheet and bullet templates. Each module tackles a different aspect of writing the sales letter, from planning all the way to polishing. In addition, there are extra video sets in which you get to see Paul create three sales letters from scratch.

Bearing in mind that no copywriting course can ever be 100% comprehensive, these modules are detailed and provide a lot of insight. Paul takes you step-by-step through the structuring of the entire sales letter: headline & subheads, stories, body copy, bullets, close etc. After he's done with all the elements, the last module is devoted to putting it all together into a coherent flowing sales letter.

Watching him write the sample sales letters - seeing how he builds it up layer by layer - is extremely helpful and is a much more effective teaching tool than just learning about it in theory.

As well as the structure of the sales letter, Paul shares a lot of sales psychology - how to keep prospects reading, how to use stories for maximum effect, etc. He has a background in Direct Sales and I think that this is reflected in his approach to copy.

Not to play Devil's Advocate or anything, but it's clear that no course can turn you into Gary Bencivenga overnight. And, like I said, no one can cover everything - personal example: my sales letters were still on the hypey side after completing the course. I'd like to think that they're better now, but it took experience (plus studying the work of lots of people) to get there.

All in all it's a comprehensive and useful series of videos. If you're a beginner-intermediate copywriter, I think it will provide you with plenty of insight.
