Hostgator To Namecheap What A Difference.

I recently changed all my hosting over to Namecheap because of constant issues with Hostgator, cpu usage, response times to tickets and generally feeling I was being fobbed by chat people etc....
I tried to explain to Hostgator that really I didn't mind if I had to upgrade my account, (I didn't mind paying extra) but not being a techie person I asked for their assistance. That wasn't bad but it was the fact that I had to continually apply through support tickets to get my account upgraded, this went on for over three weeks.
Meanwhile my sites are down, googles nagging me about being unreachable so I changed to Namecheap, I had read a lot of positive reviews on this forum about them.
To cut a long story short so far it is the best hosting move I have made, i haven't looked back since and they are cheap. They did the whole change over for me(except the nameservers), my sites were back up and running within a couple of hours....YAHHHH

You should have been using Live Chat on Hostgator, instant support.

Shared hosting will always be forced to a higher end hosting plan regardless of the host you have If traffic spikes & hogs a shared server.

For all we know you was running Cron jobs via a Wordpress plugin (or whatever) killing the Hostgator server bandwidth.

I used live chat but was told twice that cpu usage was handled buy billing and not them and would have to use the ticket system for all my queries, (response time to one ticket took 8 days).
I am not a technical person when it comes to these types of queries but I have a shared plan again with Namecheap and have had no problems so far, cheaper also.
Like I said I was prepared to upgrade if needed but their ticket system was way to slow to respond. I am still waiting for a response to tickets for well on a week again.
The change was easy and if I need to go to a dedicated server at sometime Namecheap is buy far cheaper.
As for now my sites are back up and running.
Live chat with Hostgator I found is rarely instant support, I have waited well over 30 minutes in their queues.

I am curious as to how you assumed I had shared hosting, was using Wordpress plugin, running cron jobs and then turning around and suggesting I was killing Hostgator servers bandwidth, odd very odd.
I never mentioned any of this in my first post yet you join this conversation to accuse me, I don;t get it...
