Kindle Conversion Software vs Amazon's Own Kindle Tools?

Hi Warriors,

It's been awhile since I've been online here and I see there have been a LOT of changes...especially to the Format. My apologies if this has been asked and answered multiple times. I couldn't seem to find any specifics doing a Search.

I am looking to Convert Regular Published Books into Kindle Format for an Author that I know with several Titles. The file I have from him for the 1st Book is in PDF Format, which is how it was submitted to his Publisher.

I'm wondering if there is any Specific Software that is Far Better than Amazon's Own Conversion Tools, or should I just stick with what Amazon offers for use? Should this 1st Title go well, I will be able to potentially secure a contract with him for the rest of his books, plus I will secure an Endorsement from him and a "Word Of Mouth" Introduction to the vast number of Authors in his Circles (many of whom do not have their own books in Kindle Format)!

Also, if anyone does this for a Living, or as a side Income, in what general Price Range do you tend to offer these Services for, Per Book?

Thanks in Advance for any and all Assistance Offered!

Scott

This is a free software that a lot of authors use to convert to multiple file types. You should be able to upload it and convert it to any file type you choose.

Thanks so much for the response. I was beginning to get a Complex of some kind. LOL

I have looked at Calibre and it seems like a great tool. So far, it may be the best choice.

The thing I have learned over the past few days is that I've got to get whatever book that I do for any author in a Word Documend File...preferably DOCX for it to convert the best; especially since the book I'm working on has images in the text.

      Thanks again for the help.

If anyone else has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them as well. I'm working to get the book in DOCX Format, now.
