Hey Guys,
Are any of you HostGator Affiliates?
Have you been paid this month yet?
I go an email saying that payment may be delayed by a day or 2 but this is getting a bit crazy...it says I have been paid in my account, I have spoke to someone at the start of the month that said it was definitely on its way but I am a little worried I have been forgotten about! haha Have you got yours?
Thanks guys,
M"

I've actually been looking for a different provider to promote. They keep disallowing my commissions.

They let the client sign up, they put the commission in my account and then take it back saying that he had a Hostgator account 5 years ago ect...

If it happened once, ok. But this happens every month with one or sometimes several commissions.

One time they took the commission because the guy bought it and never used it. So!!!!!!!!! Like that's my problem. He didn't refund, he just didn't use it.

      What a load of crap.

if you read their terms of service then yes the person definitely has to use the hosting account for your commission to stick.

it's pretty clear. so no point in complaining about it.

there are many other hosting offers online to promote.

My beef is, they got paid, they didn't issue a refund. So, why do they stiff the affiliate?

I don't care it was only $75, that's not the point. My point is, they got paid and so should the affiliate.

I think this is why many people that use hostgator actually promote bluehost or arvixe

I may be wrong, but isn't Hostgator & Bluehost both owned by Endurance International group (EIG)?

Cause I am stilll using Hostgator, until I can switch to VPS with maybe WiredTree or similar hosting service.

Curious, if they are both owned by (EIG) what are the odds promoting Bluehost would be any different?

While they may be owned by EIG the are all still operating quasi independently. The terms of each affiliate program are different. You never hear of payment problems from bluehost or arvixe
