Ideas for easy to work with Wordpress Themes Anyone?

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile since I posted in the main internet marketing discussion forum. I am having a terrible time trying to find out of a myriad of great
free Wordpress Themes, one that is easy to customize, without having a Wordpress degree!..lol I got spoiled by Frontpage, with which I could happily design away, and created a nice directory website. Now though, it is necessary to to have a website that meet the new coding standards.

I don't want my Wordpress blog to look like an amateurish blog. I want it to look sharp. One of the problems I have is having the ability to put my legal documents where I want them, instead of them being displayed clear across the top of the blog. I have seen many blogs that don't look like a blog at all, because someone was able to customize well. So I am wondering what themes others here have used that were easy to customize. I have tried hard to do all this myself, but now I am turning to my fellow Warriors, for some ideas.

Regards,
Debbie

I strongly recommend you to use mythemeshop themes. They are providing both free and paid wordPress themes. I think you should give them a try.

      I like them as we'll.

I also like the Voice theme, but I do not recall who makes it. It is not hard to configure.

Another vote for mythemeshop. They have quite a few free themes, which are all responsive and pretty customizable. I use both their free and paid themes.

most themes are really easy to use, just find the one you like the best.

I personally stay away from free themes as sometimes unwanted code is written into them. I use theme-junkie myself.

I've used several themes from ThemeForest as well as the free Twenty-Fourteen and Twenty-Fifteen themes that come with Wordpress.

The general problem with free themes is that if you can't find one that exactly meets your needs, they usually are not very flexible and require some code or CSS editing, which is typically not very difficult.

If you don't want your site to look like a blog, create a Page that you can set as your home page under Settings, Reading, Static Page option. If you like, you don't have to use blog-like Posts at all. Simply use Pages and you'll have all kinds of menu options.

I just want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer my question. You guys gave me lots of great ideas, that I will check out. I understand about the free themes, but sometimes that is what we have to start with. There is a paid theme that I would love to have but that thing is 199.00. It's called thesis I believe, and a lot of internet marketers use it.

You know, I have checked out Optimize Press, and it looks like an awesome theme, but the price tag is a bit steep for a shoe string budget. It is one to keep in mind though.
