Hey Warriors,

I just got twadder.

Are there other directions somewhere else as well? Or any other tips you can give to a twadder (and twitter) newbe??

Thanks!
Rebecca

    All you need to do is follow and retweet people who are popular - if you want, follow their followers too.

    There are daily limits so make sure you don't breach them, but other than that anyone can get at least 500 followers a day without paying for any tools.

      This is absolutely true, but how much time are you willing to spend on it? With tools that automate the process you can save hours. Twadder follows 500 people in around 6 minutes. Doing the same by hand (assuming about 30 seconds per profile add) would be a little over 4 hours. That's where the tools really help out.

      Some of the more advanced tools like Hummingbird save you even more time by managing all your profiles, tweets, etc.

        That's true - however, when Twitter (or any service) look for people abusing their systems, do you really think that accounts with hundreds of API calls (each follow counts) per minute won't stand out?

        Doing things faster doesn't mean better. It all depends on your goal and whether you're after short term gains and not long term.

        I'm sure there are people using tools to build up accounts and flip them - without caring that the unsuspecting customer will get their account closed because of how it was artificially grown.

        But this is no different than how people abuse any system I suppose.

    what I don't understand is software which is supposed to give you 10,000 but the creator only has over 1,000 followers. Why is that?

      A few reasons spring to mind:

      1 - They full of crap and they're BSing to sell something.

      2 - They haven't used the tool but they know people will buy it (perhaps they know the accounts will be banned, but they know some gullible people will still want it)

      3 - They've used the tool on different accounts to the one you're seeing. (again, either because they know they'll get banned and that wouldn't look good, or they don't want you to see their other accounts)

        The reason is because that's my personal account, I have over 30 accounts.

        I don't know what I did to piss you off so bad Andy, but the bottom line is this: Time is money. If you want to add followers by hand, that's fine there is nothing wrong with that. If you want to build a following manually, then do it. Nobody's knocking you.

        But many business people simply do not have the time to invest on this sort of thing. Not everyone is quick to embrace technology, but from where I stand, automation is necessary to remain competitive. If I chose not to automate my daily tasks, I would spend 20 hours a day working and get far less accomplished than I do now. If the main company I consult for (a very successful fortune 500) were to get rid of automation, they'd collapse. Their entire competitive advantage is automation.

        Look, if you don't want to buy the software don't, but that's no reason to make it personal and trash me in this forum. I'm not a scammer, and I'm selling a good product. Read my WSO for yourself, I have hundreds of happy customers who do just fine with this software. It does what it says it will do, and at a fair price. You can attack it all you want, but you'll have a hard time convincing my customers they made a mistake purchasing it.

          Hi Jeremy,

          I think there's been some confusion - I'm not trashing you or your software.

          I don't know you and I haven't used your software.

          So - I definitely was NOT refering to you specifically or your software.

          I completely understand automating these things - I use many Twitter tools myself - I even have one I personally had made which I use myself.

          I was just answering the question another poster asked about motives - based on what I've seen and experienced.

          None of my comments were aimed at YOU - if you got that impression I apologise. I certainly would never intentionally trash anyone in the forum - In fact, it's usually the opposite - I get hassle for trying to give people the benefit of the doubt where others won't.

          Good luck to you and your software.

            No problem, I just misunderstood you I guess. And probably overreacted. I've been in this business for a very long time, and have built many different products, and for some reason this software has brought me so much criticism, problems and personal attacks that I'm about to pull the plug on all of it, despite it being a good product that a lot of people like. It has been far more trouble than it's worth and caused me a lot of problems. I'm sorry if I took it out on you, and sorry I overreacted.

              I bought it and it is well worth the insane low price, Andy You came across as a little harsh. Jeremy put out a video and states the number of followers you should follow at a given time.

              I'm loving it as I schedule tweets from multiple accounts and get growing traffic, its made a big difference.

              Jeremy, Don't let the criticism or personal attacks get to you, this is a real labor saving device and a really good way to get traffic and get your name out there.

      I would like to point out, that recently twitter updated their TOS, and remember to always do whatever you can to stay within their boundaries.

      *Spam: You may not use the Twitter service for the purpose of spamming anyone. What constitutes "spamming" will evolve as we respond to new tricks and tactics by spammers. Some of the factors that we take into account when determining what conduct is considered to be spamming are:

      If you have followed a large amount of users in a short amount of time;
      If you have followed and unfollowed people in a short time period, particularly by automated means (aggressive follower churn);
      If you repeatedly follow and unfollow people, whether to build followers or to garner more attention for your profile;
      If you have a small number of followers compared to the amount of people you are following;
      If your updates consist mainly of links, and not personal updates;
      If a large number of people are blocking you;
      The number of spam complaints that have been filed against you;
      If you post duplicate content over multiple accounts or multiple duplicate updates on one account
      If you post multiple unrelated updates to a topic using #
      If you post multiple unrelated updates to a trending or popular topic
      If you send large numbers of duplicate @replies
      If you send large numbers of unsolicited @replies in an attempt to spam a service or link
      If you repost other user's content without attribution.
      If you have attempted to "sell" followers, particularly through tactics considered aggressive following or follower churn.
      It's something to keep in mind. I haven't received a lot of feedback yet about people getting their accounts banned, but still something to keep in mind. I do know of some people using twadder to build up accounts and sell them. I would NOT recommend doing this. I have no control over what you do with the software after I sell it, but I would advise against selling accounts, it seems like something that could get you into trouble.

        The rules havent really changed much and of my 375 accounts/540,000 followers I've not lost one for some time - about 2 months - and that was because of a stupid ad network blowing up. Nothing to worry about in those rules, if your product handled everything a week ago it will now.

      I wouldn't put your decision off. Twadder is a good product and will save you loads of time. Just use is to add 50 to 100 people at the time, once or twice each day. It works and is as simple as falling off a greasy log. At Jeremy's WSO price you can't go wrong. I see Andy has now purchased it. Some may abuse it, you shouldn't. Moderation is the long lasting key with this tool I am sure. But it works & works very well. You could, if you decided to be daring,add those 10,000 in one week.

    I think I know why you ask the question about other directions. The best thing to do after you download twadder and use it to add groups of 50 people two or three times--is go back and watch Jeremy's videos again. He really walks you through the various ways to use his product. I have found it a good tool that delivers as promised. I downloaded it yesterday and have added some 400 people on several accounts I have. I am going slow because I think it wise. But you could, I am sure, add tons more in much shorter time. The tool works & the price is fantastic. Go for it.

      Tweetlater is a different kind of service. It also gets you followers in a way though. With Tweetlater you can schedule tweets to go out later, so you can sit and write 500 things and then have tweetlater post it automatically at certain times of the day and it looks like you're manning the account.

      If you want to try a free version of Twadder to see what it's all about, get it here and try it out.

    I am new to Twitter and have 3 accounts with about 4K followers but learned that once you reach the 2000 limit on follow it gets harder to get large numbers due to certain ratio you have to maintain which I don't have the ratio but it looks as if its a few hundred more than are following me. If any one knows what the ratio is that would be super.

    I don't use any software except Auto-Tweet my own and I can get 100-200 followers every few days.

    Getting the big numbers is no longer easy. Once you hit 2000 you can't add 1000 to your following list overnight.

    I am also finding that majority are now only using it to promote and not really reading posts so its harder to make money in my opinion.

    I managed to drive 1500 hits to clickbank without any sales from a following list of 4K so I am not finding it as affective as it was when it first started.

    Anyone have great success with it?

    John

      I use software to follow users based on keyword and also follow the followers of people in my niche(s). I've found that Twitter users don't convert brilliantly, but they help to build web traffic to my sites and PR.
      I agree with what you're saying, I think the key for serious promoters is multiple accounts. If you have just one account then the limits hit you pretty quick.

      Selling this software has given me the unique opportunity to meet people marketing on Twitter and learn how they're doing it. There are a ton of factors for success that I can see, here are a few things the successful ones seem to have in common:

      1. Multiple accounts
      2. A combination of aggressive following, then "breaks"
      3. Their tweets are at least 90% "personal" or non advertising tweets
      4. They post very few links, to avoid lots of unfollows
      5. They build networks to retweet content and carefully do it.
      6. They cover a single niche rather than a lot of things.
      7. They push people to a product only with a discount of some sort, and VERY infrequently.

      And that seems to help a lot. I am going to write an ebook about it eventually.

        It appears that there is hummingbird, tweetwhistle, tweet-automater, bird feeder and socialoomph.

        No offense taken, you should do homework with any purchase, especially in this business. And honestly there are products out there with more features than twadder, but they also cost a lot more. Last time I checked hummingbird was 10x the price of Twadder. Is it 10x better? I'm not sure but it's something for people to think about.

      I won't say anything bad about Hummingbird, I have not tried it, but it appears to have a lot of good features. Whether those features are worth paying 10x more for is up to the purchaser. They seem to be doing very well so I imagine the software must work well enough.

      You are limited by Twitter itself, not the software you use. After you've followed 2,000 people there is a ratio that comes up, so you are not able to follow more until enough people are following you. So it's essential that you post interesting content and engage your followers, so more people follow you. As long as you maintain your ratio there is no limit of how many people followers you can have.

    I'm against spam on Twitter (who isn't?), and I once by mistake joined a service to get more followers. The system was only about following people who would follow back automatically.

    I cannot use passive, non-interested followers to anything.

    Twadders looks like a great program in that you can use key words and find people who write about your topic.

    It's just a pity it's made for Windows only, which means that I'll not be able to use it.

    Would you consider doing a Mac version later?

      You're absolutely right about the random followers. And unfortunately I likely won't be building a mac version, I was planning on it but I've had a lot of unforseen problems with the people who buy this software, so I likely won't expand on it.

      In the future I am going to build a different, more expensive suite and give a free copy to existing twadder customers. That one may work in mac, as I'm considering doing a mac and linux port for it.

    I have a suggestion:
    when you open up twitter see where its says followers cover it up with a bit of paper!!!
    you dont want followers you want listeners and if you use any kind of autofollow you will waste your time believe me

    I just purchased Twadder also and cannot get it to install. I installed Net 3.5 like they said and tried installing on Vista 64-bit, no luck, I got the error message, "can't open "sqlceme35.dll" and Exception 0x8007007E.

    Then I tried installing it on my win7 computer, same results, same errors. They give you a link to an FAQ but that doesn't help my problem. Can't find anything else for support. I would like to hear from someone who it installed for...

    I purchased the pro version and haven't been able to get it to work. I downloaded the free demo version and it works fine. I'm satisfied with the free version so I guess its not a great loss.

    I've been a Hummingbird user as well and its automation has helped me do other things while it keeps following/unfollowing in the background. Also, what I recommend to double the targeted following is that to choose 1 active user that has around 10,000+ followers than yours and then follow at least a thousand daily while you "unfollow all" once a week. That resulted me to have at least 100 followers coming in daily.

      I have about 800 followers now but it hasn't brought in a nickel. A waste of time for me and I have advertised to the point of getting scared of being booted.
