Second Life --> Experiences From Any Warriors Out There??

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can offer any insights as to how they use SecondLife to monetize their website or as an online business? Or was this more of a novelty? Thanks J

Maybe you should explain what Second Life is?

      I think it's a video game.

If there is any marketing potential, this time would likely be much better spent (for most people) elsewhere.

Agreed! Even EA doesn't seem to be using in-game ads anymore (at least not in BF4).

With second life there is several ways you can make money...

    1. You play the game and create 'assets' to be sold, whether it is clothes, or land in the game that you bought and sold for a profit. Like any real estate trading in life.

    2. You can set up a store front in second life for your own business. Nike has done this and numerous other corporations to actually get insight into their own products and what people want to see or buy. If you treat it like a business and use it to get traffic to your own site and interact with people, then you will do well. But you will need to have an active presence in the game. Without it no one will be interested.

There are other ways of making money, but the primary ways is through land buying and selling and creating valuable houses and assets.

    Good luck.

Thank you Sarah for the valuable information! So with SecondLife you can make money in the game AND create exposure for your brand. So just how much can you earn? Is it like YouTube where it's very small but it can add up? Thanks J
