Is RSSBot Helpful or Necessary?

Is RSSBot by Icansoft software solutions necessary for promoting our RSS feeds. I mean if we just ping our RSS feeds using pingler or pingoat sites, wouldn't that be sufficient? What is the need for an RSS submitter?

I hope somebody can clear the confusion for me.

It's an RSS aggregator which will help you organize your feeds for different niches. Also, it will submit to sites which will give you great backlinks. It now has been updated. You will also be able to create feeds for html sites with RssBot.

It is definitely worth buying. It's not high priced, I think you should give it a try.

      How many do you get?

I hardly get any, and most of the time none show up in yahoo as backlinks. I have all incansoft software and by running rssbot, socialbot, directorybot, articlebot - I am lucky if I get a total of 10 backlinks from complete runs of each which take up a load of my time to run.

I have emailed support and I am using it properly apparently, it just sucks at creating backlinks.

I think the problem is that the software submits to low quality sites that do not get visited often and my backlinks never get indexed.

If someone out there is getting good results with their software then I would appreciate if you could share your method with me as I have hit a brick wall with their support.

        Hello,

First off, I always say anyone serious about SEO needs a high quality RSS submitter. You'll see why below.

Also, Yahoo and other sites that report backlinks are not entirely accurate...and they don't show up backlinks right away

RSS Bot submits to some high PR RSS sites.

RSS bot can be a very powerful tool if used correctly. Lets say you have a link on wordpress.com going to your main site.

You submit that feed and now that link will rest on high PR RSS sites pointing back to your main site with your chosen anchor text

Not only that, you are creating RSS links back to your wordpress site which is going to make that particular URL stronger so that the links you have on that site will be stronger.

That is why you always hear about bookmarking your web 2.0 sites...to create backlinks to them. Well, we are doing the same with the RSS feeds.

Here's more. Do you interlink on your sites? If you have an html site where you link back and forth, you can create an HTML Link base feed so that all of the anchor text links on your site can now rest on these High PR Feed Sites at the click of a button....and they will be all pointing back to your site with the anchor text on your site

        Pretty cool, huh?

I have it but the results are not too good. I get maybe 1 or 2 links show up if I am lucky.

I just use it these days for creating rss feeds for static sites, that feature is really cool.

You have to submit it only once. I get 8 - 9 high quality backlinks which have increased my search rankings.

I suggest you don't submit the feeds again and again. Just submit them once and then keep pinging them once a day after you've updated content.

    Hope this helps.

I think people have not understood my question fully. I am not asking whether submitting RSS feeds is useful or not? I know that RSS feed submission can be extremely excellent way of getting some good backlinks.

What I am asking is that instead of submitting RSS feed to RSS directories using software like RSSbot, wouldn't it be sufficient if we just ping out urls using free services pingler or pingoat? If we just ping, will not the RSS directories visit our urls and index our webpages anyways? Why do we need to use RSSbot or other such softwares in such cases?

Sorry about that. You are right, I didn't answer your question. My bad.

Pinging and RSS feed submission are 2 totally different things.

RSS submission is a lot like article submission to the article directories. But instead of submitting articles, you are submitting RSS feeds...to the RSS sites that have high PR

Pinging just lets certain services know you updated your blog. Pinging doesn't generate backlinks

So using RSS bot, you submit your feeds once. Then when you update your sites, you check the checkbox and click ping...and it will automatically ping.

You coud also use pingomatic but you have to manually type in the URL each time

So RSS submission is more about creating backlinks. It helps with indexing but the strategy is to generate lots of backlinks at the click of a button. Pinging is just notifying services of updates

      Hope this helps

RSSBot submits feeds to RSS directories. Some of them require logins and captcha which are not included in web-based pinger like pingoat or pingomatic.

By submitting your feeds once (you don't have to submit again as your feeds are aggregrated into the RSS directories. Your feeds should be automatically updated whenever you post new contents), you leverage the backlink to your site. You can take advantage of it by making the display of feed in full instead of summary (if you are using wordpress) and make sure you have a live link to your same post url within your content.

No, your RSS feeds won't be distributed by pinging. Many RSS directories require manual submisiion and also to create an account.

I'm guessing your not sure why this works still. People take RSS feeds, post them in their sites, or aggregate the content for their sites, which provides links to your sites. Also, people go to these RSS feed sites and find feeds they would be interested in for their RSS readers, which brings traffic.

Like the previous two comments, pinging is completely different. I also recommend backlink bully to learn some tips and tricks on this topic.

RSS Bot is the building foundation of all my curretn projects, I couldn't do without it.

I haven't seen the same results as I get from RSS bot than I used to with pingomatic and other services like that.

It's definately a must have SEO tool.

Thanks Mark for clearing this out for me. It is certainly a bit more clear to me right now that it was previously. However I would like to know something - if I submit the RSS feed of my site, or web 2.0 properties to these feed directories, will they compulsorily save our feeds in their directories or will the feeds be subject to moderation and approval?

Would the RSS directories even reject my feeds if they don't find them good enough - like I have made a linkwheel blog with just a couple of posts or a squidoo lens which does not have many modules - will the feeds of such pages stand a chance of getting rejected therefore wasting my time and effort of submitting them?

Vary your titles and descriptions so that you are not submitting the exact same feed.

Try to use 30% unique content. I recommend getting a good article spinner

In internet marketing, there will be times when our content or feeds get rejected. No big deal.

I don't know of anyone who has had everything they have ever submitted be accepted 100%. They key is, get your stuff out there

      Hope this helps
