Hi everyone, HTSpy users..

I have bought this software the original version was 2.1.0
and it worked quite smoothly in my Windows XPro SP3 computer (Finnish version XP)

But now with new upgraded version 2.2.5 or 2.2.7, I cannot open the software at all
it informs always:

Run-time error '-2146233033 (80131537)';
Input string not in a correct format

I have tried every possible trick and kick to resolve program,
I installed it to my other test PC with Windows XP Home SP3
where was only basic programs and Microsoft Framework.NET 3.5 installed

(I have tried to uninstall and install every possible Microsoft Framework.NET versions
without any change and help for to open HTSpy software)

And..same problem..same info, run-time error

We have tried to resolve problem with Chris via Team Viewer but without success
alll seems to be correct so far, and because it does the same error in both computers with different version of Windows XP (Pro and Home) Finnish versions,I suppose maybe language is the reason for the error. Unfortunately I have not any chance to install English version Windows XP to my computer for to test it..

Does anyone here using other than english versions Windows XP had this same error when tried to run HTSpy newer version 2.1.5, 2.2.0, 2.2.5 or 2.2.7 ?

I am very curious to know, because it seems just ONLY oldest version 2.1.0 works in my computer. Hope this issue could resolved soon, otherwise I need to ask refund from Chris, although I know he has done a lot of work for this software and been very helpful
as well as me myself I like this software very much..

But version 2.1.0 is now outdated using with twitter because of their recent changes in their system.

Any help is VERY appreciated..

From all of our investigation it appears to be due to incompatibility from the language of your .net installation.

We are going to make a special build for you which I will have within 24 hours. It will not include the coding that required .net. So we hopefully can isolate the issue for you.

It is more that I can ask, great work, you'll get one more loyal follower for your softwares :-)

I was playig and testing with those captcha files during last night,using them in same folder than Hot Twitter Spy exe file, but with same results, they did not work without same error,apparently because some of them is incompatible.

And then this morning I got an idea to suggest you, if it is possible to include needed captcha files and includes to installation package so that they are installed to same folder as HTSpy itself.

But now I don't need to do it, I suppose you are making installation package this way..
so any language related part of them is not barrier anymore for correct working.

By way of a follow up, we now made and provided a version without the Captcha solution. Aatos seems to be the only user who had an issue with that. It appears to be related to the .Net installation on his PC only.

The developer is still looking at why that happened.

Chris you say there is a different owner now for this software. I sent him an email in regards to the software not unfollowing, but do they offer service on it anymore?

oh man - I was such a big fan of this program and then Chris sold it. It is no longer supported the way it was. The last time that Twitter made a programming change (which they do often), it took the new guys well over a week to respond with an update.

I still use it and it's still "working" but it's buggy and I have very little confidence in the new team. I'd keep looking.

If they prove themselves otherwise, I'd be happy to jump back on here and report though.

Sorry about that, the developer is the same one, and they are responding, it probably is relative to Twitter, and the way they just can't leave things still for more than a few days.

I just checked - current build 3.0.0 works fine - only thing you may need to do is click the link in the browser to view old version of twitter.

With layout change I don't think build 3.0.0 is going to work. I expect John Smiley is going to produce an update when old version is no longer viewable.
