For those of you that listen to teleseminars, classes, etc. via bridge lines on FreeConferenceCalling.com -- and it's likely MANY of you -- MagicJack now refuses to connect these calls. They insist you can only *initiate* conference calls and you can't join conference calls initiated by others. The bridge lines are often (712) 432-3100 and (218) 862-7200. I don't know about you guys, but the whole purpose of me having MagicJack is to be able to listen to all the teleclasses I want -- including many of which I've paid money to attend, but now can't. What scares me is how MagicJack is randomly refusing to connect certain calls. That has a lot of bad implications. How do they decide which calls to connect and which not to?! Please, if this affects you, (1) Contact FreeConferenceCalling.com and tell them you'll be going with another conference call service; (2) Call MagicJack and complain. The CEO is Peter Russo. I have some phone numbers for him. (I've actually gotten him on the phone once.) 1-561-722-0433 and 850-222 -1092 (3) Register a complaint with the FCC here: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm (4) Share your thoughts and strategies here. |

I get free long distance anywhere in the U.S. through Google Voice, which works on my regular residential phone line. You can't sign up directly, but you can request an invite. I've heard that they usually respond within a week. (Search the WF for Google Voice and you'll find some discussions of other nifty features. Did I mention it's free?) HTH. Steve |

Thanks, Steve, that's probably my next line of defense! But I do hope that the millions of MagicJack users will take action on this. Non-stop complaints from MagicJack users, maybe demanding refunds for unauthorized service reduction, will make them take notice. Quote:

OK, this appeared above my post. Can someone advise me why -- or was it just random? I posted MagicJack's "new policy" *here* because it affects potentially all internet marketers here. We promote our products and decide to purchase others' products by using conference calling systems! If our potential customers can't listen to our education and marketing, we lose money. I didn't tell my dry cleaner or medical insurance company about the problem because it doesn't seem to affect them at all. I've used MagicJack for more than 18 months, and you won't find me bashing them because their service has been a Godsend to me. I'd like that to continue! It's allowed me to listen to far more classes and teleseminars and participate in far more conference calls and groups than I would if I had to up my minutes on my cell phone or pay in some other way. I would like to hear from other MagicJack users and how it affects them. I don't believe that stating facts and alerting people to new policies constitutes bashing. However, if i'm incorrect, please respectfully correct my thinking. Thanks. ____________________________ STOP BASHING PRODUCT CREATORS OR YOU WILL BE BANNED! ---------------------- I've just had to waste about an hour in here deleting threads because of personal attacks and name calling toward product creators. Here's how we're going to play this now...I'm going to turn Les loose in here and you will simply be deleted from this entire forum. The WHOLE Warrior Forum. It doesn't matter if you have 5 posts or 8000 posts. I'm finally ditching my land line for MagicJack. With 5 cell phones in the house, there really is no need for a land line any more and I wanted MagicJack for marketing conference calls so I don't run up my cell minutes and this really bothers me if it's true. I guess "Unlimited" calling does not actually mean unlimited? One thing I did notice a while back though, if you are a host or actually want to call in and participate on marketing conference calls, there is a slight delay in the calls and it does not work to well. Has anyone else experienced this, or has this been fixed in recent months? Guess it's actually a mute point if they are not allowing you to even connect though. Scot |
