I have found for small lightweight sites where I have staff do content updates, Web Site Baker gets the job done and is simple. Joomla gets the job done and has a ton more add-ons, but it is pretty complex an bloated (about twice the size of a WB site). Any opinions or experiences? |

I deploy Website Baker for a lot of my clients. It is easy to use, and does not overwhelm the less-technical user with features.

If you compare Joomla and Wordpress. What are the advantages and disadvantages? I feel I can use wordpress both as a CMS and as a blog so it works pretty well imo.

It will let you manage all types of content, shopping cart, membership site, heck even social network and sales pages Joomla can do this also Drupal can do this also Some sites i build with Joomla, some wordpress and some a combination of both Its just preference like anything else. Certainly wordpress is a heck of a lot easier and quicker for people to learn and build a site with than Joomla It's also extremely easy to customise and learn the coding side of it... I say learn them both, become familiar with them both and " Test " As for every advantage a person can give for one or the other there is going to be a disadvantage. I like them both | |

I used to use Website Baker for this very reason, easy to deploy and easy for the clients to use. I'm more of a web dev house so this is important to me because I don't want to get swamped in tech support requests after deliver. The thing is, I stopped using it and moved over to ModX exclusively. It's super powerful and easy to use without all the bloat of Joomla and Drupal. That being said, if you don't have some web dev skills, it's probably easier to just deploy Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress but I just had to chime in because I use to swear by Website Baker until I found ModX. ![]() |
