I'm planning to start an affiliate and I'm debating between PayDotCom and PayGear. Does anyone have strong opinions about either company? Thanks in Advance. |

I have not used either but I'm looking for a program now too. I like PayGear because it has better options but I've been hearing they have some bugs. Not surprising from a new site but I'm hoping they're ironed out by the time it comes to choosing a provider. Sorry that probably wasn't helpful... Good luck choosing! BTW - you can offer it in more than one place - which is probably what I will do. |

I recently signed up for paygear.com for one of my products. I received a $500 credit on my account from paygear, so that much I like. I understand if you email them they will provide a credit to your account to cover your fees. The only drawback I see on paygear is that in order to get listed in their marketplace, you first have to have someone buy your product. Otherwise, I like their set up and it the fee structure I feel is very fair. Hope this helps, Jon |

I use paydotcom and it looks quite good. Maybe I have to give paygear a try. What is the fee for listing affiliate products there?

I haven't used either, but I am looking for an affiliate program, and I checked out Paydotcom some time ago. Dismissed it immediately. I just don't see what value they are providing for the fees they are asking. I just had a look at paygear and it seems to me they win hands down. Does anyone know if they handle recurring payments? |

I'm sticking with ClickBank for now. Yes, it's not the perfect solution but Paydotcom only offers PayPal as a payment option and Paygear is still rather new, and they have some bugs that need to be sorted out first. |

Paygear looks good but I've never used them.. their pricing seems to be half of what paydotcom charges... Paygear charges $1 for products under $20 where as paydotcom charges $2. Neither will store your files like e-junkie does but e-junkie charges you monthly whether you makes sales or not. It's a tough decision. |

You guys who are making a decision based on a $1 or $2 difference in fees are being penny wise and pound foolish. It's no wonder you don't even mention clickbank because they take almost 10% of all sales you make through them!! But anyway, I'd rather pay as much as $3 per sale for a stable proven solution than pay for the cheapest buggiest and unstable solution. The bugs will cost you more money in the long run than the tiny $3 fee. And from what I remember about PDC, the most you pay is $3 if your product price is over $20 and the fees are split between you and your affiliates. So even if you sell a product for $997 or $1997 or even as high as $10,000, your fee will still only be $3. Pretty insignificant if you ask me. And based on Paygear's traffic stats, it seems they are dying a slow death. Just there last 3 months alone they've averaged only about 6K uniques per month. Based on that stat alone should deter you from using them if you had hopes of maybe picking up some random affiliates from their marketplace. In that respect, they have a long way before they can compete with any affiliate program. Hope this puts some things into perspective for you ![]() Jason |
