I just got an email from someone promoting Perry Marshall's 2010 Definitive Guide To Google Adwords. I'm curious if anyone has purchased it yet and what they think of it.

I haven't purchased it, but I have learned tons of great stuff from Perry in the past, so I can say he's got great stuff.

If you are a visual learner, I would skip Perry. I find myself trying very hard to read his e-Book but couldn't really get thru it without maximum concentration. It seems there are other trainings out there that are just as good if not better. The basic concept of PPC is the same, Perry doesn't really offer anything that's worth a ton more. |

I have it, but I got it since I had purchased the existing one less than a year ago. I've read some of it, but honestly, there's no real magic to PPC. You can either afford it or you can't, and you track everything until it works. If you can't afford to track (with REAL numbers), you can't afford to play. Some markets overpay for PPC, too, because they are trying to drive the cost up and competitors out OR they are just throwing huge ad budgets wildly at PPC. You can make money with PPC, but there's no magic bullet. |

It's an interesting marketing idea, but by the time 2010 rolls around another update will be necessary as Google is quite nuts and changes things at least quarterly. |

Thanks for the input. Instead of buying it I think I will just put that money towards more PPC campaigns.

Does anyone know if Perry is offering upgrade pricing on the 2010 version for owners of the earlier version of The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords? The book helped me, and shortened the learning curve for Adwords. |

I would say start with the insider's guide to adwords, a free book by google themselves. It will help you get acquainted with the basics of using adwords. Wishing you success in your Adwords Adventure. Keep us updated, Revolves |
