How to get traffic from Quora?

Not sure about that, i know Quora is clamping down on affiliate sites, but you said you linked to a review article of a product so that is against there TOS. Instead what you should be doing is to share an article that is helpful to the persons asking questions on Quora. For example tips or tutorials.

I tried it and I was banned. However I can see several people promoting several products via their answers. In my opinion these people get away with it 1st they give longer answers and 2nd they might have several accounts which helps them not get deleted at once. IMHO.

But I confirm that question sites bring in some quality traffic b/c I remember I make a post on Yahoo answers with my affiliate links and I got several clicks and sold two weight loss products. Yes it works but they will ban you sooner or later.

I use Quora quite a bit, but I always add very lengthy, information packed answers and I only put links in roughly 1 out of every 10 answers.

Quora is a very high quality Q & A site and they have not only instituted a very tight system to detect affiliate links, they will even hide your answers from view if they feel they don't provide enough quality information. This is regardless of whether or not you add a link in there or not.

I find a minimum of 300 words is necessary if you want your answers to be visible. Also, you cannot copy and paste or use PLR articles as is for your answers. They can detect duplicate content and it will get you banned.

You also cannot use link shorteners, tracking links, or cloaked links. They aren't stupid and they will know what you are up to.

Also, before you try to post any links at all, you will need to build up your reputation by getting lots of upvotes on your answers and lots of interaction on any questions that you post.

So, how do you leverage their traffic to your own advantage?

Well, the answer is very sparingly and very carefully.

The way I do it is by linking out to well known websites in a lot of my answers, and every once in a while I will link to one of my blogs. And when I say every once in a while, I mean like once every 25-30 posts.

Also, I never link to the same blog post twice. That's a dead giveaway that you are probably linking out to a website that you own.

The reality of it is that Quora is not a viable form of traffic for promotion. I use the site because I think it's fun, and every once in a great while I'll drop a link to one of my own blog posts. However, the post I link to is never a review, but an actual article that is relevant to the question. I do it mostly for a little extra traffic in hopes I'll get a few subscribers here and there. Basically, I use the site the way it's intended and if I get a little traffic here and there, it's a bonus.

If your intent is to just barge in there and start dropping affiliate links and links to websites you own, then forget it. You won't last long.

My advice is to just use the site as it's meant to be used, and every once in a while link to one of your blog posts or articles and be grateful if you get a few subscribers here and there from it.

I had read a report I downloaded a while back that recommended using "traffic jacking" software with Q & A sites, but there are problems with that as well.

For those unfamiliar with "traffic jackers," basically it's a software that allows you to link to any major website and drop your own pop-up or opt-in form in on top of the website. For example, you could link to an authority site like HuffPost or CNN, and it would display the article you linked to and then drop in your own opt-in form or pop-up banner ad after a time limit that you set. The idea is people will think they are subscribing to the authority site when they are actually being added to the software user's list.

Personally, I don't like them because basically you are fooling people into believing they are subscribing to the authority site when they aren't.

Anyway, as far as I know they are legal, and people do use them. I know it sounds like a great theory to use with Q & A sites because "in theory" the Q & A site will think you are linking to an authority site and not promoting yourself, but there is one major problem with it. The link that you would post on the Q & A site will not match the domain of the authority site. The way most "traffic jacking" software works is by running on one of your own domains. A lot of them are actually WP plugins and would run using the domain name that your WP install is on.

They simply redirect to the authority site. This is easy for the Q & A site to pick up on. For instance, if you link to CNN or NY Times website, etc, the link on the Q & A site would have to reflect that. With a traffic jacker, it won't. It would be your own domain that simply redirects.

The bottom line is when people look for shortcuts or try to game the system it never works in the end.

If you want to get a VPN service and keep opening Quora accounts and posting affiliate links only to have them taken down after a few days, I guess you could do that. Personally, doing this type of thing is not a long term business plan, and in the end I think you would have to put in way too much time just to possibly make 2 or 3 sales a month (if you make any at all).

I am doubtful about getting traffic from Quora as i too was working hard answering queries and then after putting my link but didn't get single visitor from Quora.

Right now, I'm a casual Quora user and even with that I tend to get a few thousand views a week on my answers.

The business reason to use Quora is not traffic or dumping affiliate links. The business reason to use Quora is to enhance your authority and credibility. If you post an answer that several hundred, or even several thousand, upvotes, it's something you can use to demonstrate you a) know your stuff and b) connect with an audience.

As NB75 said, longer answers - and I consider 300 words still fairly short - are the key. Linking to your own stuff is okay when done to add depth to your answer without doing a copy/paste job.

Here's the fun part...

When you link out to one of your own posts, add a content upgrade offer to the post. If you do it right, a lot of the people who click over will take the upgrade because it's a natural next step in exploring the topic at hand.

Neal Patel has some excellent posts on his blog, but I warn you, they are very in-depth and some are quite long - about as long as some of his Quora answers...

I have never used quora. Years ago I used yahoo answers with a small amount of success.

With that said. I just visited quora and it seems to me that it would be beneficial as others have said to not really use it for dropping links in your answers or questions. But, on the other hand, it seems to me that using your profile to provide a link or 2 to your website might be a good solution for traffic. Remember, as with any site like this it is your reputation that will get people to click your profile.

I have been using the Quora since 2015. I think it is a good Forum site. it show the status of the View of your post/ thread. Many expert will reply also. Before using a site, you should read the terms & Conditions of the site. Then you can use the site. its IP/ Gateway/ MAC tracking system is good. One you logging in a account by a computer, then after 2 months/ 3 months if you click on the log in button, it you will recognize you. No spam here. You can try. After posting anything, I am sure many viewer will read your post within a short time, then if one need you he will try to reach you. Thanks.

- If you want best then at the best
- Find and answer the perfect question

Quora is a great place to get traffic for your websites. Make your answers more useful and in detail. Don't just add links there unnecessary. It will harm you and this is also the reason of getting your account suspended.

you need to answer for some sensible posts which are latest and has new topic to answer. you will gain knowledge and people will come to know you and will definitely want to visit you.

Well if you are providing real value to the users I assume quora will never stop you. Never faced this issue myself.

From my experience, Quora is pretty sensitive with links. You might get banned really fast if you post links to your website or products. They are usually only looking for good content, but you might hide a link in a really well done post if you know what you are doing.

You cant promote on quora directly. Quora is a very high quality Q & A site. You must go through T & C before submitting the answer.

I am the active user on the Quora And post smoothly on it. When you write something about your article topic so don't link the topics two - three times. Just write the article and in the end include read more and paste the link. This does not come in the promotion. You are just sharing the information and don't try to sell their product it's like you are just providing information about the product...

You can answer those relevant quora qestions which rank on the first page of search results, and your answer must be high-quality, top 3 answers get the much more views than others.

In my opinion, you shouldn't spam on Quora, in your case, 10 post with links is too much. Instead, you should try to write only 2-3 quality and valuable posts with have relevant content, useful information in order to get more traffic.

I got more than 20 leads per day from Quora... It's very interested source to get traffic.
