Link Building Yourself or Outsource

Please give me your feedback.

What do you think is the right path. I know that everyone might consider time, cost, and knowledge.

But in a perfect world what gives better results.

If you are doing it by yourself, what are you using??

if you are outsourcing the work, who are you using??

Good Luck

I like knowing who I am linking to and prefer to link on my own. I have used link machine with the Plug In Profits website and like that because you can verify links and check periodically to make sure your links are still maintained on the website.

If you have lot of free time and low budget I suggest do it your self. The advantage of doing your self is you know the best for your business and you will never do mistake of it because you're the one who did it.

But if you have budget and no enough time to do it your self find reliable free lancers or company to outsource your link building.

The best way is to take of your stuff yourself but if you have no free time you have to use a freelancer or a marketing company. You risk in this case. Some marketing experts will add your site to irrelevant sites, link farms, adult sites and directories....this everything can bring you a negative results...

I'm pretty sure Capone2009 was referring to MovieFreak comment above his. Her post stated that irrelevant content posting can create negative results. Then- he responded by saying "that's new!"

There's a big debate about whether there is really a "Negative" impact on sites that are being linked to from poor sites. Angela from Angela's list mentions that if it were true... why not take your competitor's website and create links to their site from known "Bad Neighborhood" sites... If there really is a penalty you could use that strategy to knock you competitors off of the serps.

I personally use non-spamming techniques... but there are some grey areas. Here is what Matt Cutts from Google says about this:
        <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XIb8DCwkbDg...</param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XIb8DCwkbDg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

        <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fvlS12bJnF0...</param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fvlS12bJnF0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Hope that helps! Feel free to thank me, It took me forever to find those Google Videos!!

Since this thread is talking about outsourcing-- let me leave my 2 cents on the subject:
        1) Create a long-term relationship with your outsourcers. I found a web development company through some freelancing website over six years ago-- I've been working with them ever since.
        2) Get to know your Freelancer. As mentioned above, find one that gives you access to chat. When chatting with them (on your dime-- meaning they're still on the clock) ask them about other things like family, hobbies, interest etc. Have sincere interest in them, and they will pass that interest back onto your projects. Simple but very effective.
        3) When outsourcing oversees... Go with countries that speak fluent English. I prefer India. In fact, I always out source to only India. Find out about their culture-- don't be surprised when there is a Holiday every other week.
        4) Make very clear project expectations... avoid changing or adding new features to projects. A small "simple" change can often be a major change programming wise and can cause for huge delays and added cost.
        5) Negotiate Negotiate Negotiate! Be fair, but remember everything is negotiable. I used to pay per project, but now I prefer by hour as it gives me complete control. I expect my freelancers to be available during arranged work times.

This thread isn't a product review. We have an excellent SEO forum to discuss this type of thing. Thread closed.
