Lightbulb What's Your Take On WishList Membership Plugin

Anybody here tried WishList membership WP plugin?
It looks promising but I want to hear from those who
actually used it.

Thanks in advance for your help

Wishlist is promising, but it doesn't suit what I need as it doesn't have an affiliate program integrated unfortunately.

All in all, it is a good basic script.

I love Wishlist + Clickbank combo.

To me the script is by far the easiest to use and integrate in minutes.

I was listening to an interview with Stu McLaren and somebody else. He mentioned integration with Idev affiliate was almost complete. So, the affiliate side is about to be taken care of. I currently do not use the software but have heard lots of great things about it.

I'll be purchasing soon.

Thanks,
Neal

I consolidated my Clickbank products in just 1 account and I'm using Clickmate, I'm not sure if WhishList members will work.

Thanks Neal for the heads up but iDev is expensive, that's another $300 if you're going to use it plus for techie-moron like me it'll gonna be another pain in the a$$

Agreed.

I have used both WishList and Rapid Action Profits (with the Membership add-on). The latter has an integrated affiliate program. Both can integrate with major autoresponders and can drip content.

Finally, depending on what you're after, amember and DLGuard may also be worth checking out.

Pierre.

RAP is good, I actually using it but for you to have a membership site with incremental contents delivery you must install a 3rd party add-ons for another $247.

With Amember, most of the feautures that I'm looking for are almost there but the draw backs are you have to pay per license plus installation is complex.

What catched my interest about WL is that it is easy to install because it's just a plugin (I assumed) and the incremental contents delivery features.

The RAP Membership Plus Add On is only another $127 For existing RAP customers... right from the right hand column of your RAP Admin dashboard.

Sorry Sid for that error, I stand corrected, yup, it's $127
right here (not an affiliate link) just to make up for my mistake

I was hoping to use wishlist member to have a regular membership site but after installing the script I found out that when my subscribers cancel their payment with paypal, their membership is canceled immediately.

Is there a way to have the membership end after a full billing cycle? Basically make sure that people get a full month after their payment.

The reason I'm asking is because I want to use the member part to protect access to special discounts and whatnot and if people pay for one month I don't want them to complain they didn't get a full month's worth.

Any ideas? Thanks guys!

RAP has worked for the most part in our experience but it has it's quirks and it's hard to spot and deal with when the problems don't happen to us but happen to a certain percentage of people.

Wishlist Member is pretty cool but it's not perfect and doesn't do exactly what we want it to do. It's also been doing some funny things lately.

I haven't seen a near perfect solution yet for us.

Then you must have seen an old video because the version we are running integrates with:

Clickbank
1ShoppingCart
Paypal
Cydec
Generic System (3rd party custom shopping cart)

Unless I'm not understanding you right.

We're using 1SC and even though it's integrated when it comes to affiliates 1SC handles that and as far as I can tell has nothing to do with WLM.

If a member cancels we still have to turn them off in WLM. WLM has nothing to do with affiliates and your affiliate system is independent from it unless I am missing something. Am I?

Go into "WL Member » Manage Membership Levels" and check "Grant Continued Access" to allow your members to access content up to the level at which they've paid when they cancel.

WLM is a plugin that works pretty easily, but it has its quirks (may just be me).

PLUS, don't be misled by the "incremental contents delivery" -- it doesn't work well. In order to set up, say, a weekly lesson, you have to set up 52 "sequential upgrade" memberships to cover an entire year. It's an onerous task. Don't even try it!

I asked WLM about content "dripping" and they came back with a reply of "we're working on it." PLUS, they added, they are going to SELL IT, meaning it's not part of the plugin price, which is lame, considering that they lead you to believe that content dripping is included now in the existing plugin.

From the WLM site:

Quote:
Sequential Content Delivery
For example, members start at “Module 1″ and after 30 days they are automatically upgraded to “Module 2″. That’s what the Sequential Content Delivery system is for.
It doesn't say that you'd have to create 12 memberships!

PLUS, while your content on the blog may be protected, any files you link to aren't. Once a file location is known (as in, it's in your blog), it's open to the public. There is little protection. If you dig, you'll find that Stu, the co-founder of WLM, recommends some other plugins, but they're not ideal nor are they optimized for WLM.

All in all, if you want a simple membership using WP, WLM is fine. But it isn't nirvana like some would lead you to believe.

Geez, this is what I am finding. My client has 24 lessons, so I needed to create 24 membership levels, (which I did not realize until I had set it all up already once.) Now I am trying to get it to integrate with 1 shopping cart but it is not working.
I now have 24 members sku numbers!
This does not seem like the ideal drip system at all.
Plus I have gotten very short answers back when I have contacted customer service. The kind that say, gee, watch video 5, hope that helps?
Guess what , I don't contact CS unless I am REALLY stuck. I have watched the videos 3 times, (all of them) and I read all the PDF's.
I think this is not ideal for what my client wanted.

I totally agree with you on this! And look at the replies here from the WLM - nothing.
