Default Any Free Autoresponder services?

Hey Everyone,

I was just wondering if there are any free autoresponder services available?

I've used aweber in the past and I never made any money from one of the lists I built. So I'd like to test it out with a new site that I have before I resort to paid methods -- any advice?

yes same as above you could try white lists sending to their website but i would recomend aweber if it is set up correctly and send a messge every 2 or four days for example the you are not spamming anyone and get a good responce, in theory you would get some sales pending the length of your list to cover the aweber charge,

If the list is small enough that your ISP wouldn't freak out due to an excess of emails, WordPress has a free plug-in. That means the data is stored on your server and unless I am mistaken, you need to have it stored on a SSI in a secure manner. You also have to handle backing it up (or at least I would).

There are less expensive ARs than Aweber, though if your list is small, they are not that expensive and it takes care for all kinds of tasks you would otherwise have to do and worry about.

Personally I am a Traffic Wave fan, They say you get what you pay for; but in the case of ARs that raise the price with the contact count, I disagree as it costs no more to them whether you have 100 or 100,000 contacts. (IMO)

I really couldn't stress enough that there are 2 things that you have to pay for that are well worth the costs, web site and an AR. It isn't worth the hassle and lack of professionalism to use free ones.

MailChimp is free for up to 500 on your list. This should be enough to test.

Thx everyone for your feedback. I'm going to check out mailchimp and if the list proves worthy I'll resort to AW.

I've listed below 2 free autoresponders services:

P.S.
Just like Nicholas and Andy mentioned above.
It's better to use Aweber or Getresponse if you intend to put it to good use for your business.

Cheers!

All the ones I have been using have ended up being crap. Mails not getting thru, IP were blacklisted, few features, etc.

When it comes to mailing list, the one you have to pay for are usually better.

There's a free Wordpress autoresponder out there, I've used it in the past but if you have a semi-big list it doesn't work so great.

I've found that anything over 500 subscribers and it starts acting up, but it is good to get something going for testing a new site before upgrading to a paid for service.

Free is crap. Don't do that to your internet business. Let's say you want to test it out...What if you get a lot of subscribers? You'll not be able to export them to another list later on.

Sorry to repeat myself but don't confuse MailChimp with a free one. They are top of the line. Just free for the first 500. They just give you a running start. Also be careful not to advertise "work at home" or similar. Make it a true news letter with any reference to work at home on your own site. They will ban you if you advertise work at home in the actual mailing. Very picky (that's a good thing) company.

There is one that I know that you can use for free. But you can only create up to 3 campaigns with up to 5 emails only. And you can only create a opt-in form with name and email address. You can just message me if you want the website im telling.

Hi DogScout,

The bigger the list, the more bandwidth is used. Bandwidth is not free.

Not only that, management from the ESP goes up, as there are more bounces, more SPAM complaints, etc, etc, etc.

Believe me when I tell you, the bigger the list, the bigger the expense to the ESP. Other than bandwidth costs, there are labor costs for all the management.

Next, you also have to look at server costs. A single server can only send so many emails per minute/hour/day before it starts taking DAYS to send out a single broadcast. So, we have to buy more and more servers to spread the load. As an example here.... The last time I checked, Aweber had over 20 servers dedicated to sending email! I'm on 2 already!

I am sure people will assume I am just trying to justify my own multiple levels for my own ESP, but, I TRIPLE DARE you to start your own ESP, and see if you can run it profitably with a single pricing model for ANY list size, AND keep all your servers whitelisted, AND keep deliverability HIGH!

Kind Regards

Deliverability is the key here.

Sure, there are many self-hosted solutions running around out there - some simple, others pretty elaborate. But the question remains, "Can they maintain deliverability during the long haul?"

If you had sufficient subscribers on your list (currently 5,000) where it was costing you $50/month from Aweber to host them, don't you think that your income from that list would slightly exceed the expense?

List hosting is like medical care; you really don't want to go for the cheap solution!

You have 'some points'
however I have hosting accounts with bandwidth enough to send millions of emails for under $3. While I am sure it must cost something, I don't imagine it costs more for emails than regular HTTP traffic (though I could be wrong.)
with the amount of traffic Aweber gets, 20 servers seems low! one large account with them would pay for them all. Lol.
There are other expenses I am sure I am not aware of, but after using several, I have gotten better delivery from TW than Infusionsoft! (IS also always sent me 2 of every email of whoever list I was on that used them. Over 50% ended up in the junk folder. Never used Aweber.)
I assume your service is better, you at least seem very customer service oriented which is more than most of them.
Good luck and I hope you are successful.
Mark

Well, I'm guessing Aweber has its on server and it isn't based on some other webhosting service. I mean 20 different PCs for servers.

I hope ImnicaMail has this too. I'm considering ImnicaMail when I can afford a paid autoresponder. Free for me till then...

Sumit.

If you're serious about building a list, Aweber or GetResponse. Don't build your list too big using a freebie or lower priced service, because you won't be able to migrate them to Aweber when you get serious. Aweber is the Cadillac service. As close to 100% deliverability as you'll find in the industry. Gets costly when your list gets big, but then if you're doing it right it'll be a drop in the bucket compared to all the earnings from that big list.

John

@KatyaSenina: Now that's a professional answer (And, yeah , I should have read it before asking questions)

@George: Have you managed to find a way to work with their TOS? This "no affiliate marketing" thing... this means just no affiliate links allowed in emails or...? I appreciate your input.

@maulsl88: Sorry to hijack your thread. I'm not aware of any free autoresponder service, I know there's a free autoresponder script @ infinite.ibasics.biz. I never tried it.

I personally use TrafficWave.net, they give you 30 days for free, and offer a good Affiliate program.
Also ISO provide a free Autoresponder with no ads. I used this when i first started out, and is better than most free Autoresponders.

Hope this helped

Anyway, do you accept PayPal at TrafficWave?

We used to. But Paypal doesn't like companies that pay commissions through multiple levels so they won't work with us any more.

But their debit / credit card works just fine.

We do accept Alertpay and Visa, MC, Amex, Discover.
