Hey Everyone, Say I am looking for a wordpress amazon plugin that will pull in content to wordpress that I can edit in the post / page editor. My goal is to pull back items from amazon and then easily edit / rewrite the information for better on page SEO. Thus plugins like Reviewazon will not work as the content is rendered in the browser. Make sense? Any tips would be great, thanks much. |

Brian, ReviewAZON allows you the option of editing product descriptions by turning on product description caching in advanced settings and then editing the text in ReviewAZON post properties. You cannot modify user reviews as that is against the TOS. Wasn't sure if you knew that or not. Best, Brad |

Thanks for the information, however I want to be able to edit and add content from amazon to post "drafts" that are already in the blog. Is this possible? This way I can create content form other sources such as yahoo answers and then add in content to the posts of my site. Is this possible with your product? Thanks,

There is also always the option of using OptimalProductFinder.com which is the premier windows based solution for scraping the Amazon Product Advertising API. Optimal Product Finder (OPF) compiles a CSV (Comma Seperated Value) file to use in other scripts to create Affiliate Niche Sites and earn money with Amazon’s Associates Program. This would give you the flexibility you need. |

All it does is add a Wordpress shortcode where you want the content to show up. The output is templated so you can tailor your output to display anything you want in regards to HTML and Amazon content using tokens. So you could have an already created post that is scheduled and go in and add ReviewAZON info there and it will show up when it is published. Same thing goes for already published content as well. Hope this helps. Best, Brad

I kind of get that, but the content is in the form of a token as you mention (unless I am wrong) and I would like to edit the product description and add to it .... This is the part of your plugin that I wish was tweaked just a bit. Understand? That being said I will move forward with the product as I have some ideas for how to get what I want, just wish I could edit the actual text, which I can not as it is token based. Thanks for responding to this thread / post. Best,

The token is used to display the description in the exact spot you want it to show up, but by enabling product description caching, you can gain access to the full description text (which is stored in a ReviewAZON database table) and can add additional info to the description field. You have full control over the description this way. You can also create your own tokens and add them to your ReviewAZON templates. Then you just place the tokens where you want *your* custom text to show up and add the text as a custom field on your Worpdress post. I do this to add text at the beginning and the end of the Amazon generated description and it works out really well. Best, Brad |

One point, fitnessdad, Amazon announced changes recently - customer reviews on their site are no longer allowed to be republished by third parties. You might want to check how that affects 'reviewazon' and similar products. If they are pulling teh reviews, soon they won't be able to.

I highly recommend Product Style Wordpress Amazon plugin. It won't auto pull the information from Amazon, but it gives you a wide variety of features that other Amazon plugins simply don't offer. A lot of the other Amazon plugins have run into problems recently because they pull information from Amazon. You now need to have special access keys to be able to use these features, if the plugin has upgraded to use the new features as well. The Product Style plugin is great because you don't need anything special to use it and it is regularly updated. |
