I must have downloaded reams of material -- but I still haven't found a "How to start a list from scratch."

With all the experience in this forum - are there any recommendations?

I'll give you quick ideas on the recommended methods.

1. Build a squeeze page to capture leads and offer something for free (report). Don't have anything yet? Pick a subject related to the product or service you're promoting and go to ezine articles, download a few articles and get ideas on subject matter.

2. Submit your new articles to article directories with backlinks to your site. Make sure you have a good headline, an article body that flows, and a call to action.

3. Submit more articles to these sites as this will give you the opportunity to get more eyeballs to your site. Promote different subject within your niche.

4. Create a hubpage/ squidooo lens and drive traffic to your squeeze page. Tell a story but make it so they have to go to your squeeze page to find out the whole story.

5. Post a blog, respond to blogs, post on forums, respond to forums...
