Default What, in your opinoin, is the most *cost effective* autoresponder available?

Please note I said "cost effective" not cheap, I have seen what you all do to people who ask for "cheap"

I was sitting around thinking today about how much it will cost me once my list gets bigger. I use getresponse.

It costs $130 per month for up to 25,000 contacts. So if I were to get 100,000 it might cost $520 a month.

Now I am assuming that with a list that size you could definitely make your money back, but still it seems like so much! I have never spent that much on anything before, let alone every month, and I cant even hold it!

I dont want to host my own though. So does anyone out there use anything different that might give me some wiggle room each month. Even a little bit off that would help pay for groceries or something, gas maybe.

Any thoughts?

My answer is based on the first 500 free because it's a full serivce autoresponder with a good rep. The 500 free allows you to start earning money before you pay. So it's basically no out of pocket.

It is MailChimp.

Thanks, I looked at mailchimp and yes the first 500 free is great, but I am not planning on having that little of an amount.

I am wanting to look ahead and get one that, althought might be a little more now, wont cost me an arm and a leg when I get a bigger list.

I found this one after searching and searching, it is trafficwave.net.

But it seems SO inexpensive it makes you wonder. Where getresponse charges $130 for up to 25,000, trafficwave.net charges 17.95 per month for unlimited lists, unlimited contacts and it has all the bells and whistles that aweber and getresponse has.

Is this just one of those great deals? Or is there something I am missing?

If it is for real it is amazing!

You need to make sure your list host has excellent relationships with ISPs, so that your emails are more likely to end up in peoples' inboxes not junk mail.

AWeber is excellent for this. No idea about the others.

The best way to find out for sure is to take advantage of the 30 day free trial.

Thousands of clients from a variety of industries including restaurants, real estate, manufacturing, training, medical, internet marketing, etc... find it to be a great fit for their business needs.

As for deliverability, relationships with ISP's, etc... we maintain a consistent 98% to 99% deliverability (as verified by Return Path).

Hey Brian I didnt realize you were on the warrior forum! The thing is I really like your site, what you offer seems absolutely amazing when you compare it to others.

And that is why I am curious. As far as I can tell you offer the superior service, but this is only my second time dealing with autoresponders, and I only have 8 contacts from my last site, so needless to say I dont have much knowledge about what makes a good autoresponder.

With my new site I am going at it from what I have learned from the previous sites. So I plan on having a lot more subscribers and want to do it effectively.

So I am curious as to how your service differs from say aweber and getresponse? How come you can charge so little compared to them?

Ashley

Hi, Ashley.

As for how our services differ, there will be a number of small variables, I'm sure. At the end of the day, there are some fine companies out there and the company you choose will ultimately come down to the one that you feel is the best fit for your particular situation.

I hear it from both ends.

There are clients that feel our service better suits their needs and they enjoy the low flat-rate pricing model.

Others feel that the other companies' model is a better fit.

One guy told me, today, that he was going back to Aweber because he liked the colors in their back office better!

So the reasons for why someone chooses one company over another will be widely varied.

As for the pricing issue, we're finding that a lot of businesses are starting to ask, "Why are we paying so much more if we can get it for less?".

I remember many years back when some of the larger companies would claim higher deliverability. Anyone can verify deliverability by researching with a free account at senderscore[dot]org.

Not surprisingly, when they see that our deliverability rating is comparable to (and in many cases, much better than) some of the more expensive services, they start transferring their lists to TrafficWave.net.

There are some great companies out there. Price is definitely a factor in which service you choose. Be sure to consider other factors such as deliverability, ease of use, etc... some of which can only be discovered by personal experience.

Most of the companies offer a free trial version that allows you to open an account and kick the tires so you can see for yourself.

As the owner of TrafficWave.net, I will be more than happy to paint my company in as positive a light as possible. But the best way to know is to experience it for yourself.

You may find that you prefer another company's interface, policies, or even ... colors!

But if you find that our system is the better fit for you AND you can save a considerable amount of money by using us, we look forward to having you as a new client.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. lol no I dont put to much emphasis on color! So no need to worry about that.

From what it seems, you offer the exact same service as the more expensive ones. So it seems a no brainer to me! My getresponse subscription ends sometime before the new year so I will let it run its course then sign up with your company.

Just a quick question, Is there a limit to how many contacts you can import from another service? I hope to have a few more optins when I switch and dont want to lose them all.

Thanks again,
I look forward to working with you (and saving a TON of money!) I still cant believe the price difference!

Ashley,

Believe me, going cheap with an autoresponder is NOT the best thing to do.

Note: I'm NOT talking about traffic wave here - I even used them in the past.

I've made the mistake in the past, but it's not problem, life continue. I have aweber for one month now, and I've happy (although I made the transition from affiliate to merchant and I find aweber a little bit limited for list segmentation, etc.. and I consider infusionsoft $199 per month).

Believe me, don't go cheap.

As for signing up with an autoresponder, you want to know the capabilities for list segmentation (sending buyers to a new list without having them to optin again, etc...)

If you don't do this, you may regret later.

All the best,
Franck

PS. By the way, I now have four different autoresponders, aweber, icontact and parabots and ebizac.com

I pay something like $50 per month, and it's money well spent. If I had to keep ONE investment for my online biz I'd keep those.

Yup!

I personally use profollow, its aweber promoted by Jeff Walker, but a lot cheaper $179 for a full year and allows 10,000 subscribers

No limits at all. When you're ready, you'll email our tech team with the file and any special instructions. They'll import the list for you, bypassing the double opt-in confirmation.

You'll be able to decide which of your letters to start them with and that will be all it takes.

I've been using GetResponse and have found it to be very cost effective. Unlimited autoresponders, unlimited campaigns and unlimited newsletters. The stats are pretty good and they are integrated with DLguard and Post Affiliate Pro. It used to be a very good deal, but they recently raised their rates, so now it's priced about the same as aweber.

Excellent point! TrafficWave.net added this capability several months back and it has made a huge difference in how our users manage their lists.
