From past few weeks , i am looking for good smartphone. I am pretty much confused with so many options out there. I take up all these options one by one and try to explain their pros and cons (from my point of view) . Let me know which smartphone you guys recommend. 1) Apple Iphone I am neither a iphone fan nor i like steve jobs. But the only thing which attracts me toward iphone is their huge application store. Every kind of application is there. So, i am thinking if in coming months, any new type of web2.0 site gets introduce to web (like twitter), i will easily get the application on iphone store. Downside of iphone is you can use only one application at a time. Most probably my every messenger, email applications will be running at same time. There is some way which make iphone run more than one application at same time. Its called backgrounder, but it is not allowed by iphone and t i am afraid what if it didnt work? 2) Windows mobile 6.5 - Purchasing windows mobile gives me strange feeling. It just feels so old. Plus there is no common place to purchase its applications. Is there? I also want to ask can you run like 6 applications at same time on windows mobile? 3)Android phone- There are far less android phones in market than windows mobile . But i am sure android will be good in year to come. Whats your take on this? 4)symbian - I am not sure how is symbian for living online round the clock. Symbian applications are all over the internet, some are free and some are ridiculously expensive. So, which smartphone you use and which is smart choice right now? My eyes are on N97 or apple iphone. Thanks in advance |

It sounds like you are thinking of the smartphone as something on which you can actually run your business? I don't know anyone who does that. Most people I know use their smartphone only when they are out and about and do their serious business work on their laptop. I have an AT&T 8525, which I bought in 2007. I love it, but rely on it mainly for keeping up with email, reading the news or doing a quick Google search. I cannot imagine checking my shopping cart on it or updating my web site with it. The screen is just way too small for any of that. Maybe that will help you understand your choices better. Marcia Yudkin |

My opinion - Windows Mobile is a pain in the ass. What exactly are you looking to do with the phone? For email and stuff, I'd probably go with a Blackberry.

BlackBerry would be my first choice, iPhone is something I'm not recommended, since its low battery endurance, and if you need some applications from third-party that are not on the list of iPhone store, usually it get block by the phone with the reason possible harmful for your iPhone. Linux smartphone is worth to try too.

I have an iphone 3G. I LOVE it. It's a very convenient piece of equipment to have. Between the internet browser, all my music in one place, youtube, and all the apps I love having one. And while I don't think I'll ever switch away from an iphone anytime in the near future...I do have to say if you want great battery life, reliable calls, hardware and software, durable...look at a blackberry. I love my phone it has it's faults too |

| They named a smart phone after a sex toy? (Symbian) I personally use the iPhone, sure, you can't use more then one application at the same time or maybe you can, if you jailbreak your phone, there's a ton more of features and benefits it has for you and your iPhone that Apple by default simply don't allow by default. I'm sure that there is an application out there where it would allow one via the iPhone to run more then one application at any given time. I personally like the iPhone because it does have an application for pretty much any topic imaginable and I can literally manage my online business straight from my iPhone, you gotta love technology! |

Hi there... I'd go for a phone with symbian... I've tried WM and it's not impressive. Sure you can do a lot of things, but it's buggy... Symbian (and especially on Nokia Phones) just works. Personally, I'd go for a N97 ![]() Quote:

Best cell phone I find for business is the Blackberry phones. The other seem to more for entertainment. I have the BB Curve and have all my main email addresses on it and my IM software's such as AIM, Yahoo and windows live. Downfall is the web-browser.... |

I'm waiting for the latest Android phones, but with a newer processor like the Snapdragon. There are going to a lot of those phones available soon, but probably not until after the first of the year. They should have a big bump in speed and battery life and screen resolution, and to me that's worth waiting for.

I have a relatively inexpensive Nokia E63. Does what I need - web browsing and email. Dont really see the point of anything more expensive and elaborate unless you really do want to "run" your business from your phone! |

I have an Iphone. I love it for email and some internet. I wouldn't be able to run my business from it unless I was in a real pinch though. But in comparison to all the other phones that compare to the iphone, well, there is no comparing to the iphone!

Well, Shannon's double-posted, misspelled, typo-filled post should be a vote against Blackberry Storm LOL! I've been using a Treo 680 for 3+ years and really haven't seen a reason to change yet. I had a touchscreen before touchscreens were cool. |

I work for t-mobile and have had the opportunity to try dozens of different phones. From Blackberry's to Android's to Window's Mobile I have tried them all. 6 months ago I got my iphone. Never looked back. Nothing wrong with the other phones, but the app store and the web functionality is just so much better in my opinion. However the Android phones are not far off, just newer in terms of applications available in the Android marketplace. iphone FTW. |

I love the iphone. The app store is great to have, and there are some apps that can help you run your business. I've heard Mike dillard uses it "to shout orders at his employees" lol. That was paraphrased from an e-mail by one of his students. Mike is a great guy with a multi 7 figure business, so Im sure its doing well in his hands. The Iphone is also good if you ever want to reach into the app market, it can be very profitable. Joel comm did $9000 his first week with a fart app. |

| Maybe it's the other way around. LOLThat doesn't necessarily mean it's the best solution. It's like in the good old days when many people bought IBM computers because IBM was a well known brand with many important customers. IBM didn't necessarily offer the best solutions. I'm happy with my HTC with Windows Mobile. Not trying to use it to run my whole business though. |

I do 99.9% of my phone work from my office landline. If I am not there I don't want to talk business. However, I speak on the phone to people using iphones constantly...' I get on the phone, their iphone dropps the call, the first thing I ask is if they are on an iphone and the answer is always yes. Its not a freak thing either... it happens with iphone user after iphone user and every time I ask them they always respond with frustration admitting that their iphone constantly dropps calls. This alone has made me decide never to be tied to an iphone contract... or at least until they redesign the antenna or get on a better network and solve the issue. I have been on important business calls where the person on the other line has to call me back several times because their iphone keeps dropping calls. 30% dropped call rate in NY and read the other comments Some of these people just need to get a landline. However, all my business partners use the iphone and there are some significant benefits... mostly because of the amazing applications and web based connectivity. It does help with many types of communication automation and especially with our ability to monitor and stay connected on mission critical projects. Personally, I'll just stick to my ipod touch and duct tape a tracfone to it. Now there is an iphone that won't drop calls. Check out http://crackberry.com/ forum for other helpful info on choosing the right phone. I think now is the time to get by try and avoid long contracts... because 2010 and 2011 are going to be great years for new innovations in the phone and wireless service markets and it'd suck to be tied to a crappy 2 year contract with a company you hated who always dropped your calls... If a newly engineered iphone comes out on the verizon network in 2010 when the att exclusive ends... then I'll give it another look. |

Hey Ankur, I recently went with the HTC Touch Pro2 and am really loving it. Took a bit of getting used to both the interface and the slideout keyboard but performance is very solid. Call quality is excellent (verizon) and the quality of the speakerphone damn near rivals having a polycom on the desk...really. I can almost approach roadrunner speeds tethering it to my laptop. Only downside I see with it so far is the battery life is a little on the weak side. @Josh - Couldn't agree more about it being time to get away from contracts. Rob |

In my opinion, the Android OS is stellar. I have a T-Mobile MyTouch 3G and I love it. I have to admit, the Iphone is ahead of things in terms of time (the app market is more advanced right now), but the openness of Android will make it one of the top platforms in a couple of years. Blackberries are awesome for corporate email and big business stuff, but the Iphone and Android phones are catching up over time. My advice: decide on which carrier you want and wait for the android hardware that meets your needs. The Droid from VZW is just about out and it's gonna rock, as do both of T-mobile's current android phones. I do everything business and personal-related on my MyTouch and it works flawlessly, plus it's got a great app store like the iPhone has, just less restrictive. Cheers, BoundlessProsperity |

Seem alot of people mention the Iphone but i do not think the Iphone is all that good, I prefer my nokia and Lg mobile Phones instead of The Iphone, I have to take on board mind im in the u.k not the u.s so i know Phone services are quite different then here, I do own a Iphone but i find it annoying to touch my websites and flick up/down using the Iphone, and for social networking sites such as facebook and twitter i do like the freedom of having everyone in my mobile at a touch of a button. @blue squares.....I have 7 phones that do that, here are the model of the phones Blackberry,Lg arena km900, nokia n98, samsung hd1080i and a few other mobiles i cannot think of at the moment andy |

Iphone 3GS wins hands down, but make sure you have firmware 3.0.1. Coz I made the mistake of upgrading to 3.1 and then the battery life is so damn pathetic, its not even funny. But the browser on the iphone beats all the other phones I have used. If email is the only app that you will use the most then go for a blackberry. |

ShoeMoney and Scott Jangro both just blogged today about how they are switching from iPhone to the new Droid. They both had really positive reviews. I'm almost ready for a new phone. I returned the iPhone cuz I hated the virtual keyboard. I'm thinking about a Droid, largely because Verizon has the best 3G coverage. |

Just two days ago I got a chance to have a look at a HTC Hero with the Android operating system. The owner of the phone had owned it for just one week and was already very positive about it. My first impression from the short look at the phone was that the user interface responded very quickly compared to my HTC with Windows Mobile 6. ![]() Surely will look closer into Android the next time I need to buy a new phone. |

Email wise, blackberry is the one as it can also hold many email accounts, Iphones work wonders but the only thing is battery life! If you can cope with charging your phone every night then Iphone is your choice!
