Best Flip HD Camera?

Does anyone know of a decent HD camcorder I can purchase to record high quality videos?

Also one that comes with a tripod so I can rest it on a suitable position.

I have the actual Flip HD model. I love it. Easy to use. I use one of those small bendy tripods. The great thing about it is you can just put in in your pocket. I found mine pretty cheap on ebay.

Canon product would best suits your needs.

Canon HV30 HDV (my guru use this)

and if you want more artistic D90 is used in this example. This was shot 3 days ago during my advance video production training.

Had the same question a bit earlier. Here's the results of things I'm checking out.

Sanyo Exite (spelling is wrong on this but look up Sanyo HD Camcorder and it comes up in Google)

Kodak Xi8 (good solution...I hate all these damn weird spelling like l8ter...drives me nuts)

Flip Mino HD

These are the ones I'm comparison shopping for now...

1.Canon HV30 HDV (you can check out amazon review)
2. NIkon D90 is a still SLR camera, but the video below my sig is shot with its movie setting. The great output is because of the lense

This is a Marketing forum. One would think that the people who post here are a little more sensitive than most to the improper use of Registered Trademarks and Tradenames.

"Flip" is a brand name, and "Best Flip HD Camera?" is like asking, "Best BMW 325i?"

Ya know, I think a VW Beetle is a pretty good example of a BMW 325i. What do you think? At least, I think they're both German. Is that what what the question is getting at?

There are several Flip models, at least 5 that I know of available now. I think there are 3 that have HD abilities.

Improper use of registered trademarks? What is your point?

Brad, just found out the vid format, it's in a *.mts extension.

I use the AVSVideoConverter6 software, which allows you to conver to:

AVI, To DVD, To MP4, to MPEG, to WMV, to Flash, to MOV, to 3GP, to RM, and has various profile settings for the video format, ie, blackberry phone, for youtube, etc.

I use the Flip HD ($199) and purchased a seperate tripod. I would go with the Flip HD and the regular Flip Ultra ($129) is good too. The Filp Ultra shoots really good videos, but I went with the HD cause I also shoot videos of my kids so we can watch it on our Flat panal HD TV.

I just bought the original flip video ultra camera and I think they are great and a lot of fun to use.This is actually my first foray into video and so far I am happy.

Im about to get a Kodak zi8 just because of the portability and external mic.

But I 2nd the Cannon HV30 for under $800 this thing is amazing! I had a 5k budget and still went with the HV30. I also use a Rhode video shotgun mic (about $120) and a

Audio-Technica ATR-35S (about $20 on amazon) which works awesome! They have a forum totally dedicated to the HV30 here: http://www.hv20.com/

In my opinon, the VIXIA HF200 by Canon. Brilliant video, still photos 3.89 megapixels, CMOS image sensor, advance image processor DIGIC DV III. As well as it allows you to record at up to 24Mbp.

Canon Vixia HF S11

An excellent flash-based prosumer HD camcorder, the Canon Vixia HF S11 has the advantage of an excellent image stabilizer but it disappointingly lacks an eye-level viewfinder.
