was checking my inbox the other day and came across an email my one Mack Michaelsof Cell Phone Cash. He claims that he made over $300,000 in one month using the power of cell phone affiliate marketing.

He says if you join his membership site for a recuring $25 he will reveal all strategies in step by step videos. I am thinking of buying the membership course because i know that if you can send ads by to mobile phone users(4.3 billion users worldwide) the marketing campagn can be very effective.

Has anyone tried and profited from the Cell Phone Cash Course?

Not sure, but definitely look into it before purchasing. 300,000 in 1 month is a ridiculous claim

STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM CELL PHONE CASH!

Please see some of my other posts for my experience with CellPhoneCash (which I now refer to as SellPhoneCrap). I had high hopes for the course myself. I bought it, "studied" it (it's just a 7 week video "course") and tried to apply what I'd been taught.

In fact, this was rather difficult, as Mac Michaels' changed his tune about what worked and what didn't several times over the weeks. In fact, he flat out contradicted himself a number of times.

My business partner and I spent several hundred dollars attempting to make money using his methods. We failed miserably. I should point out that we are fairly experienced marketers, so we're not complete noobs and have some idea of what we're doing. I could go into great detail about all the things that are wrong with this course, but the following should give you some idea.

• Slap-dash course materials. You can tell Mac simply banged out videos each week (over the duration of the seven week course). There is very little in the way of graphics or visual aids (not that this would make or break a course, but it's another indicator of the poor quality). It reminded me of the much reviled (and deservedly so) Arbitrage Conspiracy. You can tell very little thought went into the curriculum.

• There were no case studies, example campaigns or step-by-step how tos. It was long (extremely long, actually) on theory, while "practice" was non-existant. Mac's excuse was that he couldn't reveal his campaigns because they would be ruined by doing so. Well, that's true. We understand that. But a quality course would have created dummy campaigns, if nothing else, to show us all – step by step – how it's done. Not providing same is just... well... lame!

• Confusing and contradictory instructions. One week, "this" is good, the next "that" is.

• Lots of useless "how tos." I think he shows you how to set up an iPhone ad on Admob about five times (maybe even more) when doing so is brain-dead simple. Once is more than enough. But when it comes to critical stuff – like showing how to set up a campaign in detail – forget about it!

• Customer support that doesn't know anything about cell phone marketing. I mean, it is great that MaverickMoneyMakers has phone support. But if they don't know anything about the course you're taking, what good are they then?

• Distortions if not flat out lies about the kind of results you can obtain. For instance, after the first week Mac says that you "now know enough to start making money." Well, IMHO and experience, that is total BS! It certainly didn't work for us.

I should add that it wasn't a case of the techniques being taught not working well. No, it was a case of them NOT WORKING AT ALL! I mean as in nada, zilch, zero. We got lots of clicks. That doesn't seem to be a problem with cell phones. But not a single sale. Not one. In many thousands of clicks.

And I should also add that not only were we working the niches that Mac so highly touted, in one case we built a site specifically around the recommendations of the one guy in the phone center who seemed to know something about cell phone marketing. That campaign bombed too!

Finally, if the foregoing is not enough for you, consider this: shortly after Week 7 finished, MaverickMoneyMakers set up a forum for SellPhoneCrap users. Within days, it was full of posts, 95% of which (in my estimation) were negative. My partner and I soon realized that we were not the only ones having trouble with the course. It seemed nobody was making any money following the given instructions. Nobody. People were very irate and unhappy, and I have it on good authority (from somebody who works for Mr. Michaels) that cancellation and refund rates are very high.

But here's the best part. About one week after they opened the forum...

They closed it. Bang!

Yep.

They cited technical reasons.

Uh huh. Yeah. Sure.

I believe they shut it down because nobody had anything good to say about the course.

Obviously, I can't recommend the SellPhoneCrap course. Not only is it bad, I consider it a ripoff... if not an outright scam. It's possible that my partner and I missed something, but then again the forum (RIP) was full of others who had the same ugly experience. Your results (should to be brave or foolish enough to try it) may vary.

Ah, but I suppose we should look on the bright side, right? Us suckers made Mac Micheals, Clickbank (Clickstank?) and AdMob a lot of money!

BTW, what does seem to work (we're testing this right now) is using cell phones as lead generators. But again, IMHO and experience, you won't actually SELL anything on them directly, and the one technique we've found that seems to work is NOT one Mac Michaels talked about in any detail. Go figure.
